Consult with Program Managers and subject matter experts to identify learning gaps and content requirements
Work with Program Managers to ensure all materials adhere to Product Marketing and Learning Services standards
Add content to learning/content management systems and invite/assign learners to appropriate content
Assist with the basic administration of our LMS
What Skills, Knowledge and Experience You Should Bring
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Adult Education, Instructional Systems Design, or equivalent experience
Some work experience in instructionaldesignor video production, preferably with a software company
Ability to work as part of a collaborative team in a complex, changing business environment

Department Summary
The Department of Product Design Program is part of the School of Art + Design in the College of Design at the University of Oregon. The Program offers a BFA in Product Design (the first three years are completed in Eugene and the 4th year in our Portland campus) and an MS in Sports Product Design (located in Portland).
The Product Design Program critically investigates the use, invention, and production of products to improve life. It is devised to meet the rapid changes of the material world through agility and interdisciplinary studies. It is international and local. Students study both the physical and theoretical aspects of product design, including design research, material studies, manufacturing strategies, economic planning, and innovation techniques. Through this position, we intend to strengthen our research and teaching in design to enhance the performance of the human body, in sport.
Position Summary
The Product Design program at the University of Oregon invites applications for its open instructor pool to teach design drawing (hand), 3D CAD and rendering (Rhino, Solidworks), prototyping, UI/UX, design research methods, design studios, and other relevant courses.
Positions are limited-duration appointments potentially renewable for up to a total of three years. In limited circumstances, there is the possibility of renewal beyond three years based on programmatic need, funding, and performance. Successful candidates will have either academic or professional experience in their teaching area, demonstrated ability or potential for quality teaching, and a commitment to working effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
This position will have specific courses assigned each term, varying the FTE attached to the position by term.

Key Responsibilities
85% - Serve as Learning Specialist
* Develop and deliver comprehensive academic support services, including individualized academic plans to a specific caseload of student-athletes who present a variety of academic needs, which may include student-athletes with education-impacting disabilities.
* Meet with assigned cohort of student-athletes from a variety of sport programs up to five times per week. These sessions are expected to be highly engaging and developmental, focusing on academic skill building, including time management, organization, reading comprehension, and writing development.
* The learning specialist is expected to demonstrate an understanding of the course expectations and general course content to help the student successfully complete course objectives.
* Develop and disseminate detailed and timely student-athlete academic performance reports to Academic Counselors. Meet as needed with Academic Counselors to ensure open communication, collaboration, and a proactive approach to serving student-athletes.
* Lead the administration of the incoming student assessment process to identify each student's academic strengths and opportunities for growth. This includes coordinating and organizing testing sessions in conjunction with the Academic Counselors and the Head Learning Specialist, evaluating and delivering assessment findings to appropriate staff, and making service placement recommendations.
* Work collaboratively with ASA staff and student services departments (e.g. Disability Access Services and Academic Success Center) and other campus partners to help student-athletes utilize appropriate resources and services.
10% - Contribute to Program Implementation & Enhancement
* Develop and implement educational initiatives, trainings and workshops for student-athletes and staff including tutors, study hall facilitation, mentor training, and BEST summer bridge programming.
* Assist the Head Learning Specialist with planning training material and sessions for student-workers.
* Serve as a resource to the ASA staff on current best practices relevant to student learning and academic efficacy.
* Participate in the ongoing evaluation of the academic support programs for student-athletes.
5% - Contribute to the Team Effort
* Accept additional responsibilities and assignments at the direction of the Head Learning Specialist and Director of ASA.
* Contribute to a pleasant work environment and maintain respectful professional working relationships.
* Attend and actively engage in staff meetings, trainings, professional meetings, seminars, workshops, and conferences, as budget allows.
* Regularly collaborate with co-workers, campus partners, and supervisors in an effort to successfully achieve mutually sought goals for the department and university.
What You Will Need
* Bachelor's degree in education, sociology, psychology, counseling, or related field.
* One year of experience working with high school or university students experiencing academic challenges, including but not limited to under-preparedness, low academic efficacy, or a diagnosed learning disability.
* Experience teaching learning strategies and developing academic intervention strategies to enhance learning for academically underprepared students and students with education-impacting disabilities.
* Experience supporting student academics in one-on-one and group settings.
* Demonstrated experience working effectively with individuals from diverse educational, cultural, and economic backgrounds.
* Strong written and oral communication, computer, and organizational skills.

What You'll Do
The Designer - Substation is responsible for supporting substation design projects across the QISG platform by performing routine 2D/3D Physical and/or Protection & Control (P&C) design tasks. This role requires working knowledge of basic design techniques and industry procedures, with an emphasis on accuracy, standards compliance, and CAD proficiency.
Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong familiarity with substation materials, construction methods, and utility design standards. Proficiency with CAD platforms-including AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, AutoCAD Map 3D, Inventor, and Substation Design Suite (SDS) for Physical and/or P&C applications-is preferred. The Designer will work under the direction of a Lead Designer and collaborate closely with engineers and drafting teams to develop and maintain quality drawing packages for both internal and client-facing deliverables.
Work on design aspects from project inception to completion on various substation projects.
Utilize 3D and/or smart design software for substation design.
Demonstrate knowledge of quality control procedures to ensure the highest standards of workmanship.
Take personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of his/her work.
Research information in catalogs, specifications, corporate standards, or other reference material.
Learn and properly use the document management system and suggest improvements.
Learn and apply corporate standard engineering practices.
Bring potential project-related problems and possible solutions to the attention of the stakeholders.
Travel out of town for short periods of time as required by projects and assignments.

What You'll Bring
Associates degree in Drafting & Designor equivalent certification is preferred. A 4-year Eng Tech degree is a plus.
Experience in drafting disciplines with a background in substation design is highly preferred.
Minimum of 4 years' experience in the electric utility industry performing detailed CAD/design for high voltage substation projects. More experience could result in a higher-level position.
Experience with 3D and/or smart design software (AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Inventor, SDS, etc.) is preferred.
Word processing, spread sheet, and e-mail software.
Extensive knowledge of various CAD programs
