Instructional developer/designer job description

Entrata's Knowledge and Education Department is looking for an Instructional Designer / Developer based in our Lehi, Utah, HQ. This individual will be a key team member in creating Entrata's first-ever Client Certification Program. The Instructional Designer / Developer for this program will conceptualize, strategize, and implement a certification for adult learners. This will involve creating a new team and department processes for course production and publication. This individual will be expected to manage and work on multiple projects simultaneously while completing them within specified timelines. They will collaborate with subject matter experts to understand product functionality.

The ideal candidate is excited to be the expert, produce creative and professional e-learning programs, focused on outcomes vs. outputs, and have an innovative mindset in order to build something never before seen at Entrata.

ResponsibilitiesConceptualize, design, and develop training content, including video and course content, assessments, scenario-based training, interactive elements, and other training materials Lights, Camera, Action! Plan and direct video production shoots for training videos and course content Use a variety of multimedia technology and authoring tools to build content that engages the audience, increases retention, transfers skill/knowledge, and drives sustained behavior change Maintain knowledge of new learning approaches, technology, and measurement tools through continual research to ensure that our solutions deliver innovation Collaborate with colleagues and support projects that drive team initiatives and larger organizational goals Design and create motion graphics for use in content related to a variety of products

Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree or higher in Instructional Design or related field or equivalent work experience2+ years experience using eLearning development tools. Articulate Storyline 360 experience is a must; Articulate Rise and Adobe Captivate experience are helpful.2+ years experience with capturing images and using screen capture tools such as Snagit2+ years experience with video production and editing using tools such as Premiere or Final Cut ProAdobe After Effects experience a plus Must have 2+ years experience developing training content for business software and/or technical software topics for eLearning and adults. Ability to add creativity and design elements to the development process Exceptional verbal and written communication skills Works well in a team environment, with the ability to work independently Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to plan project tasks/events and execute the timeline

Instructional Designer/Developer Details:

• Temporary position
• $33.65 to $39.42 /hour
• Full Time and Part Time work available
• Weekend work required
• First Shift (Monday through Friday from 08:00am to 05:00pm)

Creating a team to conceptualize, develop and publish a certification course for adult learners.

Design, develop, film and compile training content through video and course content, assessments, scenario-based training and interactive elements.

Collaborate with subject matter experts and understand product functionality and best practices through continued research.

Preferred experience with Adobe Illustrator and Adobe After Effect as well as voice-over video direction and production.

Instructional Designer/Developer Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience

2+ years experience using tools like Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro

2+ years experience developing training content for business software and/or technical software topics for eLearning

Excellent project management and prioritization skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

As an Instructional Designer / eLearning Developer , you would perform the following tasks:

• Organize and write a variety of training documentation and/or research materials and complete a variety of tasks.
• Create, manage, and deliver engaging training across multiple mediums and multiple learning styles

• Ability to write effectively and communicate complex ideas in an easy-to-understand manner.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate has prior experience working as an instructional designer / eLearning developer in a consulting-based company, or in a role where they consulted SMEs to build project. They are highly proficient in Articulate Storyline. They have a degree (although concentration is not critical) and can use the Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) well. This individual is adept at learning new software programs and is a solid writer. They may also have experience in other authoring and editing software, including the Adobe Suite and other programs used to develop eLearning. Finally, this person is looking for a place where they can work on a variety of projects for different clients.
