Job Description: SUNY Schenectady County Community College is seeking an English as a Second Language (ESL) Instructor for their Workforce Development and Continuing Education program. This position(s) requires a responsible instructor capable of planning, implementing, instructing, assessing, and evaluating an educational program for Non-credit Community Education courses in English as a Second Language. The Workforce Development & Community Education division offers a variety of Non- credit Community Education courses. The individual is responsible for delivery of a course outline, syllabus, lectures, assessment materials, and materials related to the course. The course outline and/or syllabus will be provided to WFD&CE prior to the start of each course. WFD&CE has classrooms on our main campus and satellite locations in Schenectady. Depending on the needs of the student cohort, instruction may be delivered in-person or virtually, synchronously or asynchronously. The instructor will assist students in achieving proficiency in ESL, as well as provide feedback and evaluation. The instructor may be required to work with community funding and industry partners. This is a part time position. ESL Instructor Responsibilities include: Administer and evaluate assessments as appropriate. Plan and conduct activities/lessons based on ESL teaching methodologies. Differentiate instruction so as to meet all students' learning styles, abilities and needs. Assess, track and provide feedback to students on achievement and developmental needs. Encourage, engage and motivate students to speak in English. Complete administrative tasks such as attendance, reports and evaluations. In partnership with a WFD&CE Coordinator, assist students with college transition services (ie: collecting relevant documents, admissions process, prior learning assessment, financial aid access, student support services, etc.). Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and extensive experience in the course field. Experience within a diverse classroom setting with students of differing ages and backgrounds. Chartpak is the parent company of Grumbacher art supplies, the US distributor of Koh-I-Noor drawing supplies, and host of the online artist community, thalo.com. Watercolor, acrylic painting and/or drawing instructor wanted to teach art classes at the Michaels store in Pittsfield! This is a part-time, permanent position. This is a great opportunity for an artist who would like to be able to offer classes, but does not have their own studio space to do so. We are looking for instructors who: -have the ability to paint and/or draw realistically -have the ability to teach realistic, acrylic painting, watercolor and/or drawing classes -have the willingness to market their classes and build their own student base Compensation: FREE Basics: MAKE A Project Classes: Scheduled up to one time per month Hourly rate plus $3 per student Advanced Classes : Acrylic Painting, Watercolor and Drawing Classes: Hourly rate plus $7 per student for 6 students in attendance or less Hourly rate plus $10 per student for 7 students in attendance or more *All schedules to be determined between instructor and Michaels store management. Duration: Classes are two hours in length. The goal of each class is for students to leave with a finished painting or drawing. Certification: All Grumbacher art instructors who teach classes at Michaels must become certified through Grumbacher. The position is located on the Bennington College campus in Vermont and will either be seven, six or three weeks depending on the needs of the school. The Italian School will be in session June 26 to August 14, 2026. Our unique immersion and graduate programs combine a cultural immersion environment with rigorous daily classroom instruction. This is an opportunity to join a community of learners, by actively engaging in teaching, dining, residing and recreating with students while reading, writing and speaking exclusively in Italian. We are looking for a faculty member with experience teaching Italian as a second language in the U.S. and experience teaching Italian grammar, writing, culture, in levels 1 to 4. We are also looking for a faculty member with experience teaching Italian as a second language in the U.S. and the ability to teach graduate level courses in Public Art, History of the Italian Language and/or Opera. Faculty members are expected to live in the dormitories and use the same facilities as students. They are also required to eat all of their meals in the cafeteria alongside students. In addition to regular teaching duties, all faculty members must participate in a variety of co-curricular cultural activities on weeknights and weekends. Qualifications Successful candidates should possess a PHD strong interpersonal skills, and demonstrated success working as a member of an instructional team. A candidate with a creative, dynamic, and easy-going approach will be an excellent fit with the School of Italian. In addition to the salary, lodging and a complete meal plan will be provided. This position is for summer 2026.
