A safe and supportive space, the Center will welcome all middle school and high school-aged youth in New Braunfels during their out-of-school time (after school, weekends, school holidays, summer). GENERAL PURPOSE: Under general supervision of the Program Director/Supervisor, this position assists with administrative and operational activities of the Mill Street Youth Center including programs, special events and activities. Responsibilities include the promotion and coordination of progressive and innovative teen programs and events. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following duties are not intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties, only a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties. Assists in ensuring the delivery of high quality and consistent programs, events and leagues. Assists with planning, organizing, facilitating, and instructing programs as approved by the Supervisor to meet teen needs; coordinated in alignment with strategic objectives, policies and procedures, and State and Federal laws. Acts as an onsite monitor for programs and activities. Efficiently utilizes social-emotional skills to identify and address behavioral issues and notify management of any escalating issues. Provides effective and courteous customer service to facility guests, program participants, and general public. Effectively implements and promotes techniques of conflict resolution & de-escalation with youth. Engages and supports volunteers who assist with the implementation of program activities. Assists in promoting and coordinating special events, including event setup and tear down. Assists in managing a variety of administrative activities including cash management; operating computer registration/reservation system. Maintains facility cleanliness and is active in presenting a clean, comfortable, and safe environment; responsible for reporting potential and existing safety issues or concerns to supervisors to ensure patron safety. Takes responsibility for assigned equipment and supplies. Assist in transporting youth after school and/or on field trips and ensuring all youth are supervised and accounted for. Performs other duties as assigned or required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: ·Must complete and pass a comprehensive background check. ·HS Diploma required. ·Must be at least 18 years or older, 21 years or older is preferred. ·Minimum 6 months of experience working with youth preferred. ·Must possess good character and decision-making skills. ·Must possess a sincere interest in children, maturity, self-control, and sound judgment. ·Ability to communicate effectively with peers, members, and management.
