The LaFetra College of Education at the University of La Verne is building a strong pool of adjunct faculty to support three student-centered programs: the M.S. in Educational Counseling , the M.S. in School Psychology , and the undergraduate Child Development major. Across these programs, we are seeking colleagues who want to join a diverse, collaborative training community committed to preparing ethical, culturally responsive practitioners and educators who lead with competence, advocacy, and a commitment to social change in PK-12 and community contexts. Adjunct instructors teach the undergraduate Child Development courses, graduate-level Educational Counseling courses, and graduate-level School Psychology courses primarily on the main La Verne campus. However, there are courses online, hybrid (mixed in person and virtual), and/or at remote campuses. We invite applications year-round for a continuous applicant pool for part-time undergraduate and graduate teaching assignments, filled on an as-needed basis. Required Qualifications
Educational Counseling Qualifications : 1. Earned doctorate or master's degree in Educational Counseling or School Psychology from a regionally accredited institution. 2. PPS Credential with specialization in School Counseling. 3. A minimum of three years of successful experience in Educational Counseling PK-16. 4. A commitment to and experience working with diverse student populations, families, communities and issues of social justice. 5. Experience with development of planning, organizing, and implementing data-based comprehensive school counseling programs, best practices in individual/small group counseling, counselor leadership. 6. Working knowledge of the American School Counselor Association ( ASCA ) National Model framework for comprehensive, data-driven school counseling programs. School Pyschology Qualifications : 1. Earned doctorate or Master's degree in School Psychology or Educational Counseling from a regionally accredited institution. 2. PPS Credential with specialization in School Psychology. 3. A minimum of three years of successful experience in school psychology. 4. A commitment to and experience working with diverse student populations, families, communities, and issues of social justice. 5. Experience with data-based decision making, academic intervention/strategy development, best practices in assessment/bilingual assessment, and behavior intervention. 6. Working knowledge of the National Association of School Psychologists Model for Comprehensive and Integrated School Psychological Services. Undergraduate Child Development Program Qualifications : 1. JOB SUMMARY
Both our lower-division and upper-division undergraduate courses are 3-unit courses. Each is taught twice a week on campus (either at our San Bernardino campus or our Palm Desert Campus) for one and a half hours per class session, during the Fall and Spring semesters (15 weeks each). Instructors prepare their syllabi, assignments, classroom activities, lecture materials, and grading rubrics, and teach the courses following department guidelines. Instructors or these courses also hold limited office hours in which they can meet with students who need help, have questions, and require advice about their coursework.

THE DEPARTMENT
Coastline College's ESL Department includes both English as a Second Language (ESL) and English Language Learning (ELL) programs.
The ESL Program provides a comprehensive, academic English program for non-native English speakers who seek to improve their skills in reading, writing, grammar, listening, and speaking. The program prepares non-native English speakers for regular collegiate classes, college degrees, and vocational training programs. It is also suitable for those who wish to improve their English language skills for employment in the United States.
The ELL Program provides courses emphasizing general life skills and highly specialized courses for non-native English speakers who wish to improve their English language skills in a non-academic, real-world environment.
The ESL/ELL Department is located at the Westminster-Le-Jao Campus.

This course provides entrepreneurs, business managers, and international trade professionals with key business and cultural insights to do business within the mainstream U.S. market. Topics include an overview of the U.S. economy, regional and national demographics and cultural dynamics, business customs, framework of the U.S. legal system, marketing strategies, and negotiating tactics.
Job Description
Instructors teach students to understand the fundamentals, technical aspects, and concepts of the subject matter. More importantly they prepare students to utilize this understanding practically in the workforce. In addition to teaching proficiency in technical matters, instructors utilize case studies and real-life examples wherever possible to help students take their understanding from the pages of the textbook into the work of the real world. To accomplish this, instructors foster a collaborative, inclusive learning environment developed to support the success of all UCLA Extension students coming from a wide range of educational, personal, and professional backgrounds. We are looking for instructors who can primarily teach in-person in our Westwood or Downtown locations.
Instructor Duties:
โข Develop and/or update course syllabus in consultation with the UCLA Extension Program Director as assigned using approved syllabus template
โข Prepare and deliver course materials and learning assessments in assigned format (in-person, online or hybrid)
โข Utilize the Canvas Learning Management System as the course support platform for in-person courses and as the delivery platform for online and hybrid courses
โข Communicate teaching objectives and specific learning outcomes to students and clearly outline the grading policies for the course
โข Evaluate student achievement of specific learning outcomes and assign grades
โข Post final student grades to the transcript system in a timely manner no later than 2 weeks after the last date of course meeting
โข Respond to student questions and learning needs in a timely manner
โข Communicate with Program Director, Program Representatives and Online Course Managers in a timely manner
โข Stay current regarding the professional body of knowledge in the field of practice
โข Participate in required orientations and instructor training programs

The Continuing Education Division provides noncredit and fee-based courses on campus and in the community to provide greater access for community participants. Position Details:
The Communication Studies Department in the College of Arts and Letters at Cal State LA, is seeking applications for a pool of part-time faculty lecturers with positions available as determined by need during the 2025-2026 academic year. Positions will be filled as needed for each academic semester.
Part-time faculty lecturers are hired with conditional appointments based on enrollment and budget. Hires from the pool of applicants are made when there are instructional needs to fill coursework offered by an academic department based on changing enrollment patterns, changes to tenure-track faculty assignments, and other factors that cannot be addressed with existing faculty. Initial appointments are typically for one semester, but occasionally academic year initial appointments are made. Appointments may be renewed based on department needs, funding, and performance. Often appointments are made just prior to the start of the semester so some faculty lecturers may need to be available on very short notice.
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidate must have an appropriate degree from an accredited university (for upper division undergraduate courses-master's degree; for graduate courses-doctoral degree, or master's degree and substantial teaching experience). Demonstrated excellence in teaching at a college level.
Applicants should have the ability to relate well to others within the academic environment and demonstrate ability and/or interest in working in a multiethnic, multicultural environment. The BA in Communication Studies is available in four options which provide students opportunities to specialize in theory, research, and practice of human communication in specific hubs and contexts. Each option, Health Communication, Mass Communication, Organizational Communication and Social Justice Communication, covers a cluster of the subfields of the discipline represented in the major U.S. and international associations of communication scholarship.
The MA in Communication Studies provides graduate students the opportunity to engage in an array of communication subfields including Rhetorical, Instructional, Organizational, Strategic, Interpersonal, Digital, Mass, Health, and Intercultural Communication. The faculty's diverse research expertise provides graduate students access to a generalist program of study designed to be tailored to suit students' particular needs.

The BA at LAC offers the Organizational Communication option.
