ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The Adjunct faculty member for the Undergraduate School or the School of Graduate and Professional Studies will be responsible for:
Providing an academic learning environment that supports student success and cultivates a classroom culture that embodies Rosemont's values.
Implement best practices in online course design and instruction.
Teaching a 7(grad)-14(undergrad) week asynchronous course, or in person as assigned by the Dean or Program Director.
Ensuring timely management and response to correspondence from students, administrators, and other school officials.
Participating in discussion board conversations to engage students in relevant discussion and coursework - connecting the material to real world experience whenever possible/appropriate.
Submitting Early Alert Notifications and partnering with Academic Advisors to address student concerns.
Maintaining and submitting accurate and timely reports for student grades/progress.
Submitting final grades in accordance with the academic calendar.
Enforcing student conduct policies as outlined in the University Catalog.
Attending university, departmental, and faculty meetings as requested.

The Rutgers-Camden Faculty of Arts and Sciences Dean's Office is seeking an instructor who can teach the Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills ( CARS ) section of the MCAT exam and also serve as the instructor of record for the MCAT workshop course that is offered to undergraduate students for academic credit. The course may utilize materials from a test preparation company such as Kaplan and will be supplemented by American Association of Medical Colleges ( AAMC ) materials and direct instruction. The course will cover all four sections of the MCAT exam, with separate instructors teaching each of the three other sections. The instructor of record will coordinate the work of the other instructors and ensure that the course runs efficiently and effectively. The course will be offered in person in Camden, NJ. Two of the four topics on the MCAT will be addressed each class session, which will be held one afternoon a week. The other two topics will be taught the following week. The CARS instructor therefore will attend class once every other week. The instructor of record should expect to spend approximately 2 hours every other week instructing students, with additional time allotted for grading, office hours and various administrative duties related to oversight of the course. * POSITION GOALS
* The ESL Instructor will report directly to the ABS Director and will provide English instruction to limited English proficient adult students including curriculum development, evaluation of students' progress, and accurate maintenance of all students' records. Classroom instruction should be interactive and incorporate a variety of teaching techniques, materials and resources.

* Administer and analyze pre and post assessments to determine students' proficiency foundations and progress indicators as required.
* Provide instructions in Civics Education based on citizenship exam requirements.

Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Elementary Education or English.
* Minimum of 3 years teaching Adult Basic Skills or post-secondary education.
* Minimum of 3 years experience in teaching older youth and adults 16-27.
* Minimum of 3 years experience in teaching in an urban setting.
* Demonstrated ability to provide instruction for English as a Second Language students.
