Successful candidates teach courses in the Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning Department (WDLL).** **Primary Responsibilities:** The ability to teach a program up to 460 hours, up to 25 hours per week (5 days per week for 19 weeks) which includes the following subject areas: * Anatomy, Physiology and Medical Terminology * Infection Control, HIPAA, OSHA and other applicable regulatory requirements of the medical office * Office administrative procedures: medical records, filing, electronic PMS such as Medisoft, office machines and telephone * Clinical procedures common to the outpatient medical office * Supervises students, conducts classroom instruction and practical exercises, maintains a safe environment conducive to learning, maintains classroom facilities **Minimum Qualifications:** * High School diploma or equivalent * Previous experience teaching the subject matter * Experience teaching adult learners * Three (3) years' experience working as a Medical Assistant * Ability to teach in Edison, New Brunswick, or Perth Amboy * Possesses and maintains current certification as a Medical Assistant (MA) or as a healthcare provider with a license/certification beyond MA **Preferred Qualifications:** * Bachelor's Degree * Experience teaching in higher education * Experience/certification in phlebotomy and/or EKG **Supplemental Information:** Please include day, evening and/or Saturday availability in your application. WDLL is currently seeking a Medical Assistant instructor to teach in person, days at the Edison, New Brunswick and Perth Amboy campuses. Please note that this is a pooled position for instructors.
