Position Title: IT Support & Security Fundamentals Technical Instructor

Per Scholas is seeking an IT Support and Security Fundamentals Instructor to join our Remote Training Team, supporting our on-premises cohort in Denver. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, problem-solving individual with strong technical and instructional skills, demonstrates the ability to adapt quickly to a dynamic environment, and maintains a strong sense of accountability. To succeed in this role, candidates must be business-minded, aligned with our mission focus, and excel in instructional delivery that meets the high expectations of both clients and learners.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Support instructor-led training that prepares learners for entry-level to mid-level careers in IT Support. Responsibilities include daily instruction, administering assessments, monitoring attendance, providing one-on-one tutoring, conducting daily evaluations and progress monitoring of individual learners, consistently addressing learners violations, and more.
Provide learners with access to relevant resources for outside learning on technologies and study aids relevant to the curriculum.
Work closely with the team to identify learners needs, provide the necessary support, establish individualized plans for learners achievement, and participate in regular student-status meetings.
Maintain and update Salesforce and/or our LMS with learners grades, certification scores, and progress notes.
Support and maintain the training curricula, syllabi, lesson plans, and other instructional materials used in the classroom to ensure their effectiveness and consistency.
Stay current with industry trends and integrate.
Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO US
Instructional Skill Sets
1-3 years of teaching or training experience
Strong technical background; able to grasp and convey highly technical subject matter
Ability to respond clearly to live digital conversations via a digital engagement platform such as Zoom or an in-person training environment

Should be familiar with the OSI model and protocol data flow
Working knowledge of Client/Server Environments
Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) processes and frameworks
Proficiency with remote administration and remote administration tools (i.e, InTune, Remote Access Tools, TeamViewer, Bomgar)
Experience with providing direct, over-the-phone, or remote troubleshooting support of end-user desktops, equipment, applications, or connectivity issues in a timely fashion
Thorough understanding of Network/OS Security concepts and procedures
Proficiency in cybersecurity concepts and the ability to communicate security concepts

The Adult Education Program's mission at Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) is to assist adult learners to become literate and obtain the knowledge and skills necessary for employment and independence. The Adult Education program serves the diverse needs of our learners by providing the following classes: ESL, ABE/ASE, Citizenship, Computer, Career Exploration, Small Business, Culinary Pathways. Paraeducator Pathways, Family Literacy and Tutoring. We are seeking an English as a Second Language (ESL) Instructor who will support clients in providing ESL training for those for whom English is not their primary language to develop and enhance their abilities to function within their communities.
Schedule. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 8 hours per day between 8:00 am - 9:00 pm, dependent on teaching assignments. We offer a flexible hybrid schedule where you will work 1/2 time in the office and 1/2 time at home!
Salary for this role. The starting wage is based on experience and company equity. Paid bi-weekly.
$50,440.00 ($24.25 per hour) - $75,643.76 per annum
Bilingual Language Differential Pay. *rate depends on language requirements for the position and the candidate's fluency.
Employees will receive scheduled earnings on a bi-weekly basis, equivalent to 5% of their regular base rate (hourly or salaried), with a maximum amount of $3,000.00 per calendar year. The annual maximum amount will be prorated based on full-time equivalency (FTE).
About you.
The ideal candidate will have passion and previous experience working with immigrant and refugee populations. This instructor should be comfortable with internet-based computer programs, providing highly engaging on-line classes to students. Candidates must have at least two (2) years of teaching experience with a focus on adult education. Previous teaching in multi-level / multi-cultural class setting is required. Having an Adult Basic Education Authorization (ABEA) before hire would be a plus, but is not required to get started in the role.
Essential Functions:
Teach engaging and student-centered group classes, as demonstrated in lesson plans and observations
ESL classes include instruction in the four language domains (reading, writing, speaking, and listening), job skills/workforce curriculum, English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPs), College and Career Readiness Standards (CCRS), and CASAS STEPS competencies.
Pre-GED and GED classes include College and Career Readiness Standards (CCRS); TABE competencies; and academic content in language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies.
Citizenship classes help students understand the N-400 citizenship application and prepare them for the citizenship interview and 100 questions
Integrate civics education into the curriculum.
Incorporate the use of technology into classroom instruction, including administering a distance learning platform for hybrid learners.
Use a variety of materials and teaching techniques.
Teach traditional courses such as Math, Science, and Language Arts.
Monitor students' goals and progress.
Address learners' needs using a variety of resources and approaches.
Provide support in registration, testing, and retention of ESL learners.

Qualifications
Requirements:

As an Academic Lab Instructor in the Math Center, you will assist with answering students' math questions on a drop-in basis.
