The Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences seeks a full-time General Cardiologist. The position is at the tenure, or non-tenure accruing level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. The successful applicant should have completed three years in an ACGME accredited Cardiovascular Fellowship and should be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiovascular Medicine with strong interest and expertise in non-invasive imaging including echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, and nuclear studies.
The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Toledo currently provides clinical services to the community of NW Ohio and SE Michigan for all types of cardiovascular diseases. An important aspect of the mission of the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences is educating medical students, residents, and fellows through advanced training programs in the core disciplines of non-invasive and invasive cardiology. The department offers a wide range of cardiac testing, diagnostic and treatment services at our state-of-the-art cardiovascular facility.
The Division currently consists of eight full-time Faculty members, a part-time Faculty member, and five Advanced-Practice Providers. Our General Cardiovascular Medicine Fellowship has a total of nine General Cardiology Fellows and our Interventional Cardiology Fellowship trains one Fellow each year.
Responsibilities:
This clinical position includes duties consisting of weekly outpatient and imaging sessions, up to 8 weeks attending on the inpatient cardiology consult and critical care services, precepting fellow(s) clinic and opportunities for teaching and academic development, which includes presenting and attendance at appropriate conferences, meetings, and service committees. A significant responsibility includes teaching as required, and training fellows, residents, and students.
Weekend and/or holiday service as an attending physician on the inpatient service commensurate with peers.
Conduct independent research in line with the goals of the Department of Medicine. The research focus is flexible and tailored to the interests of the applicant and the desired Faculty Track: Research Track (Clinical Science), Clinical Scholar Track, or Clinical Educator Track
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from an accredited institution or a comparable foreign medical degree
Completion of an ACGME accredited Internal Medicine residency program.
Completion of an ACGME accredited Fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease
Certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) in Cardiovascular Medicine, and preferably certification by The

We are primarily a teaching University and are looking for applicants with well-developed teaching skills. Faculty members teach a total of 21-24 credit hours per academic year. The successful applicant will be expected to teach applied courses that engage students in the Greater Cleveland community. This could be through a service learning course, internship course, or applied research course in the field. They would also be expected to teach any of our required courses, including Intro to Psychology, Statistics, SPSS, Research Methods and Thesis, in addition to a lower level topical seminar. They also may be asked to develop new courses in their area of specialization.
The Psychology Department currently has 7 full-time members representing the main sub-disciplines in the field. Work was recently completed on an $18 million renovation of the campus engineering building that will reinvigorate the physical campus space. With the physical reinvigoration, we are seeking an instructor to reinvigorate our Manufacturing & Skilled Trades Program. The incumbent will be responsible for classroom instruction, maintaining course records, grading, program curriculum, mentoring students outside the classroom, and course curriculum. This will include working with other full-time and part-time faculty at the college to make modifications and changes to best prepare our graduates for either further study or to enter the workforce. College Faculty are required to hold 10 office hours per week in addition to teaching. Teaching load is 30 contract units a year, typically this is 15 units per semester. The incumbent is also encouraged to participate in college social, cultural and professional activities and civic activities.
