Position Summary:
UNC's Center for International Education (CIE) is the university-wide office dedicated to comprehensive internationalization for students, faculty, and staff. The CIE team develops and implements international activities that support teaching, learning, research, and global engagement throughout the university. The CIE team provides extensive (i) global learning opportunities; (ii) advice and counsel on immigration and tax regulations, and compliance for students and scholars; (iii) international partnership development and facilitation; (iv) comprehensive support for international students; (v) on-campus global programming that helps to educate campus community and develop global cultural competencies.
The Intensive English Program (IEP) resides under the CIE's umbrella. It is a CEA-accredited, in-house academic language program aimed at serving diverse linguistic and cultural needs of English language learners and providing professional development training to EFL/ESL educators. IEP is a 7-level program that fuses cross-cultural immersion with focused English language instruction to create a unique and distinctive college preparatory experience to ensure the students' future academic success and career readiness.
Job Duties:
Teaching
Teach academic English to English language learners in the following courses: Reading and Writing, Listening and Speaking, Grammar, and Academic Vocabulary.
Meet during assigned classes at scheduled times online or in person.
Organize instructional planning according to the IEP curriculum and individual student learning outcomes in each course/level.
Administer formative and summative assessments.
Keep and report student attendance.
Actively utilize the university's Learning Management System (Canvas) in each course.
Reporting and Student Advising
Conduct mid-term and final grade reporting in a timely fashion
Provide feedback and consultations based on the results of the reports
Keep regular student hours in person and/or online (2 hours per week).
Upload copies of the final grade reports, final exams, and assessment rubrics in a designed SharePoint location
Professional Development
Attend and participate in IEP faculty meetings.
Stay informed about the best practice in the field of TESOL and adjust teaching practices accordingly.
Collaborate and cooperate with fellow IEP instructors and staff.
Administrative Duties
Assist with processing student applications for admission.
Assist in data collection for external accrediting agencies.
Respond to prospective student inquiries.
Assist with marketing and web-site management when needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in TESOL/ESL, Applied Linguistics, or related field.
Experience working with non-native speakers of English.
Effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Effective written communication skills.
Established digital literacy skills.
Effective critical thinking and reasoning.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in TESOL/ESL, Applied Linguistics, or related field
3 years of experience teaching ESL in U.S. or abroad.
Experience designing curricula and assessments.
Experience teaching online and using LMS effectively in course delivery, assessments, and class data monitoring.

Summary:
GYMNASTICS
Under direct supervision of the Gymnastics Program Supervisor, High Level Gymnastics Instructors will lead, instruct, and motivate athletes in gymnastics classes. They are responsible for coaching students through safe, progressive, and effective foundations for the sport. This position offers the chance to join an inspired and dedicated coaching staff and become an integral part of our team. Our coaches take a collaborative approach in developing our athletes and show a strong commitment to our participants and each other.

GYMNASTICS
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Teaches foundational progression for athletes in team prep, pre-team, and team programs
Teaches and spots higher level skills for our girls' and/or boys' teams.
Sets up equipment, maintains roll sheets, and communicates effectively with parents.
Develops circuit and curriculum and provide leadership/mentorship to instructor I, and II positions.
Takes proper safety precautions, anticipate unsafe circumstances, and act accordingly to prevent accidents and injuries.
Tests and evaluates class participants for skills promotions
Enforces rules, regulations, and policies; maintain safety, order and discipline of participants, and/or customers.
Performs customer relations role including interacting with parents, participants, program partners, and/or city staff to provide information and solve problems.
Works as part of a team, attending training, orientation and/or staff meeting as needed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to collaborate with coaching partners about lesson plan ideas. Work closely with coordinators and floor leads.
Ability and willingness to accept and provide feedback.
Ability to evaluate conditions in assigned areas and make judgments related to safety.
Ability to keep accurate records, organize information, and follow established procedures.
Ability to stay actively engaged and assist with spotting of gymnastics skills.
Ability to tactfully and effectively communicate with participants, parents, and coordinators, with excellent customer service.
Ability to understand and observe participant behavior and monitor exertion levels.
Knowledge and strong understanding of basic gymnastics with the ability to provide coaching feedback to participants while ensuring proper class management tactics.
Knowledge and understanding of the importance of punctuality & consistency. Ability to commit to the agreed-upon schedule.
Have and maintain acceptable background information, including criminal conviction history.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience coaching higher level gymnastics (for example, Xcel Platinum+, or DP Level 7+) Girls and/or Boys Teams.
Have attended USAG Regional or National Congress.
Have coached in an USAG Regional/Western/National Championship.
Current USAG Professional Membership including up to date U110: SafeSport, U101: Safety & Risk Management, U112: Tough Coaching Course, and U100: Foundations of Gymnastics.
Ability to communicate bilingually.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Two to three (2-3) years of gymnastics coaching experience.
Previous experience working with children, youth and adults.

Physical and mental effort: Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities that permit the employee to communicate effectively on the telephone and in person. Ability to work under stress from demanding deadlines, public contact, and changing priorities and conditions.
Working environment: Works primarily in a clean, comfortable environment. Works in a setting subject to continuous interruptions and background noises. Requires schedule flexibility, occasionally working nights and weekends. May work in both indoor and outdoor environments that are oftentimes impacted by weather and at times, unpredictable conditions.

You choose which area(s) and instrument(s) you service for as well as your available hours in the schedule system. Lessons are sold in 4 packs which meet weekly same time and day. Make ups available with 48 hrs notice. When student books, you both receive auto email confirmations with 48 hrs notice.
You will need to pass a background check for our Amazon listing, create an email account for our company, and paypal account using that email address.
Multi instrumentalists have an increased chance of maintaining a solid student base. If you teach guitar, can you add mandolin, banjo, or ukulele? If you teach voice, can you teach piano, guitar, or other instruments? You will get and keep more students!
We do all the “Heavy Lifting Marketing” and ask you to be involved with some easy “Light Marketing” that we can't do for you such as getting reviews, posting on Craig's List, Social Media, writing simple blog articles, sending us videos we optimize for you. These items only take a few minutes of your time, less than an hour per week, and help boost your SEO for more students. We also provide biz cards and flyers for use locally.
