About this Role: Our AP Computer Science instructors are the core of our BLI Computer Science program. Our Blended Learning Initiative (BLI) Computer Science program aims to fundamentally broadenaccess and forge pathways into computer science, technology, and engineering among Philadelphia students from underinvested communities. This program is a key part of the Heights Inveniam partnership with Penn Engineering.
For the 2025-26 school year, we are hiring instructors to teach our AP Computer Science A classes after school and on weekends. The curriculum materials have been developed in partnership with Penn, where classes will occur. These classes aim to build on students' prior coding skills (e.g. from our summer BLI Intro & Intermediate Java classes and/or classes from students' schools) to motivate and prepare them for the AP Computer Science A exam, and ultimately for success in tech majors and careers. They will work with the Director and Coordinator of STEM Pathways and Computer Science consultant.
Heights will hold small-group instructor orientation and training meetings for AP instructors in mid-October once staff are cleared to begin working. These instructors will co-teach at Penn (Sat. or Sun.) and Heights (Center City, Wednesdays) from Oct. 22 - May 6. The program will be on winter break from Dec. 13 - Jan. 11, aligned with finals and winter breaks for colleges like Penn.
Heights will hold instructor orientation for spring-semester Raspberry Pi and Emerging Tech instructors in January prior to classes starting Jan. 28-29.
We understand that you may not be able to fully predict your spring-semester availability for weekday afternoons at this time.
Multiple schedules & classes available:
The schedule for BLI - AP Comp Sci A instructors will be 5-6 hours per week, including 9:50am - 12:20pm on Saturdays OR Sundays (TBD), 3:55 - 5:20pm on Wednesdays, + 1 hr Friday team meetings (time TBD), prep/ planning time as needed, from Oct. 17 - May 6.
The schedule for the Intro Raspberry Pi instructor is 3:45-5:30pm on Wednesdays, plus weekly meeting and prep time, from Jan. 28 - March 25, for a total of 3-3.5 hours/week.
The schedule for the Intro Emerging Tech co-instructor is 3:55-5:30pm on Thursdays, plus weekly meeting and prep time, from Jan. 29 - March 26, for a total of 2.5-3.5 hours/week.
You'll help us to achieve:
Improved access to rigorous, college-level Computer Science content and skills to Philadelphia teens, especially 1st-generation-to-college, Black, Latinx, and low-income students
You'll be responsible for:
Co-teaching an AP Computer Science A class (using our curriculum developed with Penn) OR Special Topics in Tech (Intro Raspberry Pi, or Intro Emerging Tech) of approximately 15-20 students
Attending weekly Team Meetings (time TBD from instructor availability)

The Temple University School of Social Work invites applications for non-tenure track instructional faculty positions at the Instructor or Assistant Professor of Instruction rank to teach in its undergraduate and graduate programs and to collaborate with interprofessional colleagues across the College of Public Health.
The faculty member would teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in social work; mentor and advise students from different backgrounds; contribute to school, college, and university service; and may conduct scholarship on pedagogy and publish and present in peer-reviewed venues.
Candidates will be considered for a start date as early as January 2026, and no later than Fall 2026.
Note: this is not a fully remote position.
QUALIFICATIONS We seek candidates with an MSW, prior social work teaching experience, demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching, and a commitment to creating inclusive, accessible spaces for all students.
Preferred candidates will have a doctorate such as a DSW, or PhD, in social work, social welfare or another relevant discipline; professional experience in clinical social work and/or in macro practice, and/or in integrated care; classroom and online teaching experience; an interest in developing and using relevant practice simulations in their teaching; familiarity with learning management systems and communication/educational software; and experience teaching and mentoring students from different backgrounds in an inclusive setting.
THE SCHOOL OF SOCIAL WORK.
The School of Social Work's faculty serve students in CSWE-accredited BSW and MSW programs.
The BSW program focuses on generalist practice, while the MSW program allows students to specialize in an area and method of practice.
These programs are fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education through 2031.
Classes are offered in-person and online.
