South College invites applications for the position of Adjunct Faculty Member/Tutor for Mathematics at the Orlando Campus. Under the direction of the Department Chair/Dean of General Education, the Adjunct Mathematics Instructor will provide instruction for General Education Math courses including: College Algebra, Statistics, Pre-Cal, and Calculus on a quarter-by-quarter appointment. Instructors are required to evaluate students' progress, communicate with Faculty Leads for subject matter questions, and return all graded assignments in a reasonable time frame according to South College Expectations. Tutors are expected to work with students on campus for 4.5 hours per week during the 10-week quarter as determined by the Dean of Academic and Student Services/Dean of General Education.
Requirements
A minimum of an acceptable master's degree in Mathematics (doctorate preferred) or an earned master's or doctoral degree and satisfactory completion of 18 graduate semester hours in Mathematics; and
Experience teaching mathematics in the higher education setting. (Experience in ground and online instruction preferred).
