JOB DUTIES: * Provide academic instruction to students by teaching from approved academic curriculum. * Meet Outcome Measurement System (OMS) and Company statistical goals for assigned area. * Demonstrate ability to manage classroom environment and classroom discipline for effective learning. * Demonstrate full knowledge of competency-based instruction, computer management instruction, and cooperative-learning techniques. * Tailor facilitation to each student by using a variety of instructional approaches in recognition of students' diverse learning needs and preferences. * Make recommendations for policy and curriculum revisions. * Participate in Evaluation of Student Progress (ESP) score completion and panel system. * Provide appropriate personal and educational guidance to students. * Ensure confidentiality of student records and services. * Enforce professional norms and promote professional behavior for students in classroom/shop area. * Demonstrate full knowledge of Job Corps Academic program operations. * Collaborate with other members of the student's support team, including the Counselor, Nurse, Co-disability Coordinators, and other instructional staff to provide wrap-around services for student success. * Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Job Corps information systems including case notes, attendance, career plans, and Evaluation of * Student Progress (ESP) forms. * Model and provide instruction in the use of information technology as a critical component of workplace success. * Demonstrate interest and ability in working with at-promise youth. * Provide opportunities for students to demonstrate Career Success Standards in the classroom/shop area. * Engage qualified outside volunteer speakers to enhance curriculum and training experience. * Schedule and participate in experiential learning/field trips applicable to the training program and approved by the Academic Manager. * Control use of materials, property, and equipment. * Maintain required credentials and/or certifications of position. * Operate in accordance with requirements set in the contract, PRH, guides, Standard Operating Procedures, and corporate policies. * Complete all required training according to Job Corps and Company training schedule. * Advise and support students as a mentor and role model in the achievement of their learning and career goals. * Contribute to cultivation of positive Center culture which is free of harassment, discrimination, intimidation, and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn. * Other duties as assigned.
