Gymboree instructors facilitate high-energy parent-child classes in play, art, and music, and child-only classes in school readiness programs, as well as themed and private parties using lesson plans provided by Gymboree. Gymboree On The Go requires local traveling to preschools/daycares/etc., mileage will be reimbursed. You must be a happy person who is willing to sing unaccompanied, lead parenting discussions, multi-task, and engage children by crawling, climbing, sliding, and singing with them (and encouraging their parents to do so as well!). Music teachers must have a good musical foundation and must be able to sing well, read music, and be able to teach the basic building blocks of music (but do not need to play an instrument). You must be very comfortable being silly in front of a group of parents and kids and encouraging them to be silly with you. School readiness classes are a wonderful way for education majors to gain experience in the classroom with shorter and smaller classes, and no assessments!
Life experience, dependability, responsibility, and personality count more than previous work experience for the instructor position. However, previous experience with children and in retail sales or customer services is strongly preferred. Applicant must be dedicated to exceeding customer experience; committed to learning and program development in an on-going training process; demonstrate the Gymboree core value of Celebrating Childhood by developing and maintaining customer relations.
Job Responsibilities:
• Facilitate parent-child and independent child classes in Gymboree Play, Art and/or Music

Qualifications:

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
* Prepare and deliver targeted Mathematics instruction to students during designated bootcamp sessions, focusing on algebraic concepts, problem-solving strategies, and quantitative reasoning.
* Participate in a virtual training session in mid to late January to align instructional strategies and review TSI Mathematics assessment content and best practices.
* Lead and facilitate two 2-hour in-person morning instructional sessions on consecutive Saturdays in February, focusing on test-taking strategies, content review, and student readiness in Mathematics.
* Provide students with practice materials, feedback, and guidance to improve their performance on the TSI Mathematics Assessment.
* Take all necessary precautions to protect and secure students, materials, and facilities during instructional sessions.
* Keep informed of and ensure compliance with all school district rules, policies, and procedures.
* Communicate effectively, professionally, and courteously with school administration, faculty, parents, and students regarding bootcamp objectives and student progress.

We are seeking candidates with teaching experience and the expertise to teach a breadth of courses in one or more of the following areas of psychology: introductory, developmental, social, personality, cognitive, organizational, and psychopathology. A PhD in psychology is required at the time of appointment.
