Job Title: Primary EMS Instructor

The Primary EMS Instructor at Guardian Elite Medical Services, LLC. is responsible for providing education in various EMS course curriculum in accordance with company, local, state, and national guidelines to provide an exceptional educational experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Teaches courses in accordance with company standards and curriculum.
Ensures that training equipment is maintained and in working order.
Ensures training spaces are well maintained and clean for student use.
Completes a variety of paperwork including sign in sheets, skill sheets, testing documents, course evaluations, etc. These documents must be turned in at the end of each class.
Provides lectures, reviews, and skills training to the students, to include scenario-based training.
Assists students who come in for RQI training and CPR/First Aid skills verifications.
Ensures educational compliance with most recent National Emergency Medical Services Education Standards.
Completes annual refresher training for advancements in emergency medical practices.
Ensure maintenance of current certifications and licensures form recognized national and local organizations (NREMT, AHA, SNHD).
Communicates student progress to the Director of Education or their designee.
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
AEMT Certification or higher at time of hire and licensure with SNHD within 3 months of hire.
EMS Instructor I or II through the Southern Nevada Health District.
ICS 100 & 200 and NIMS 700 & 800 within 30 days of hire.
Ability to obtain AHA instructor credentials within 12 months of hire.
Experience with EMS Education.
Experience:
EMS Background: Must have prior experience as an EMT, AEMT, Paramedic, or another healthcare professional involved in prehospital or emergency medical care.
Instructional Experience: At least 1-2 years of teaching experience in EMS education, including EMT and AEMT programs; NAEMT courses and AHA/ASHI training is a plus.
Leadership: Experience in a leadership or administrative role, such as an Education Coordinator, Lead Instructor, or Training Officer in an EMS or healthcare education setting.
Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with EMS educational regulations and standards for agencies such as the Southern Nevada Health District Office of EMS, NREMT, and AHA.
Knowledge and Skills:
Technical & Educational Knowledge:
EMS Training & Education - In-depth understanding of EMT and AEMT education; NAEMT courses, AHA certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS), and ASHI courses (CPR, AED, First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, Wilderness First Aid) is a plus.
Adult Learning Principles - Ability to deliver effective training programs for adult learners.

When Briefing
Show briefing video to guests as needed
Follow provided briefing script and informs guests of track layout, driving technique, passing, speed limits
Answer and discuss any guest concerns regarding the safety of the track and cars and trucks
Ensure each guest initials, signs and dates each Acknowledgement Form before having a driving experience
Stock all necessary supplies for Briefing Room including waivers, pens, clipboards, etc.
Practice enhanced disinfecting to include washing hands, cleaning seats, chairs, reading, clipboards and pens

ROLE of the POSITION
This is a search for an Associate Professor or Professor/Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs (Tenured or Tenure Track) within the School of Nursing.

Key Responsibilities
Faculty Development & Mentorship
* Partner with faculty to establish and pursue professional goals.
* Create opportunities for mentorship, leadership development, and advancement.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The individual must have a minimum of 3 years' experience and must hold a doctorate in nursing from an accredited College or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
The individual must also hold or be qualified to hold a Nevada RN license and if selected applicant is subject to a one-time background check.
Faculty rank will be dependent upon educational credentials, terminal degree, experience, and scholarly achievement. Based on UNLV School of Nursing criteria and review. NOTE: The senior-level nursing faculty member must possess a record of extensive scholarly achievement (e.g., publications, grant funding as PI)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Teaches and implements the objectives of the curriculum course, as assigned by, and under the direction and supervision of the Director of Surgical Technology.
Prepares, administers, grades, and records formative and summative written and practical examinations during course of study.
Discusses with students their concerns and/or problems directly or indirectly related to learning experience and the achievement of satisfactory academic progress.
Plans and assigns student activities in the classroom and/or clinical settings in order to attain the breadth and depth of the program objectives and outcomes.
Maintains records of student progress and performance, attendance and grades.
Is responsible to assist the student to develop an understanding of values, attitudes, and ideals appropriate to the health care profession.

The instructor will oversee and facilitate laboratory sessions for students in the lab. This role involves providing hands-on instruction, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and fostering a supportive learning environment that encourages student engagement and inquiry.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Requires a credential in the field of Surgical Technology that is through a national credentialing organization accredited by The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting.
Requires a minimum of three (3) years of operating room experience or teaching in the field, or a combination of the two, within five years prior to hire date.

Duties and Responsibilities
Tenure-track faculty teach counseling courses and supervise practicum/internship. The normal teaching load is 24 credit hours per academic year except for the first-year. Tenure-track faculty teach 18 credit hours during their first year of service. Faculty engage in service activities including curriculum development; recruitment; advisement, and retention of culturally and linguistically diverse students. They nurture program relations with area schools, agencies, and community behavioral health centers, including establishing practicum and internship placements. They maintain a program of scholarly research and activity.
Faculty share duties as they arise; participate actively in professional organizations and university committees; and, work to improve the counseling program continuously. In addition, this person will carry an advisee load of about 20 - 25 graduate counseling students. Faculty members are required to be available to students by scheduling and honoring office hours and by special appointment when necessary. Faculty hold office hours that correspond to the locations and modalities of their courses. To facilitate academic advising, at least 2.5 office hours are held at the faculty member's Location of Record in the faculty member's office.
Full-time faculty members are engaged and paid on the basis of an academic year contract, including days when the university is open, and classes are not in session. The work year is normally defined by the academic calendar. Participation in faculty development week and commencement exercises is required.

Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must possess a doctoral degree in counselor education or receive official notification of completion of the doctoral degree by August 11th, 2025; or, have a related doctoral degree and have been employed as a full-time faculty member in a counselor education program for a minimum of one full academic year before July 1, 2013. (ABD may be considered under special circumstances.) The candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a professional counselor and possess, or be eligible for, professional licensure in counseling. In addition, candidates must have demonstrated knowledge and experience in various teaching modalities including on-ground, online synchronous, online asynchronous, and/or blended learning. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have an established professional identity as a counselor educator; be a graduate of a CACREP Accredited Doctoral Program; demonstrate knowledge and experience with teaching courses across the CACREP core; and, have experience in the professional development of clinical skills at the Master's level.
The candidate will have or be eligible for licensure as an independent clinical practitioner (LPCC) in the State of New Mexico; have three or more years of experience as a professional in clinical mental health counseling; be involved with professional counseling organizations; and, be experienced with CACREP accreditation processes. The ideal candidate will have training and experience as a school counselor and will have demonstrated successful experience designing and teaching online courses.
