The Surgical Care Center provides for wound and ostomy care, pre surgical assessment, post surgical follow up and support for podiatry services. The Surgical Care Center works closely with Physical Therapy, Orthopedic Foot and Ankle, General Surgery, Diabetic Foot/Vascular, Colorectal, and Plastics. The center is staffed with Advanced Practice Nurses with a collaborative practice agreement with the Burn/Trauma Services and Colorectal Physicians. The center provides excellent, compassionate wound and ostomy care to individuals consistent with their medical needs. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care. Educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post treatment home care needs and medication administration. Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Participates in professional development.
