Job Description
We are seeking a full-time BSN instructor to teach OB or Pediatrics. No prior teaching experience is required but must have recent bedside experience in OB or Pediatrics. Pay: $60-70/hr DOE
Responsibilities:
Collaborates with other instructors in preparing, administering, and grading examinations for the course. Participates in the preparation of the final evaluations for the course
Responsible for assuring class attendance and grades are kept and submitted
Assist with strategic planning and assessment of instructional initiatives to ensure quality of program
Plans and implements orientation of new faculty in both theory and clinical facilities for the courses
Utilize principles of teaching that recognize the characteristics of the adult learner

Purpose:
The Department of Communication at Santa Clara University, a Jesuit, Catholic institution, invites applications for Quarterly Lecturer (non-tenure track) positions to teach courses in Communication Studies. Pay Range:
The rate per credit for an instructor with a PhD is $4,924.50. The rate per credit for an instructor with an MS degree is $3,939.50.

The successful candidate will be qualified to teach in a variety of subject matter areas. The subject matters may include, but are not limited to, Business Math, Marketing, Introduction to Business, Small Business Start-up, Entrepreneurship, Business Management, Business and Society, Business Law, Human Resources, Negotiations, Project Management, and others. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to teach in person, asynchronously, and synchronously. In-person class assignments may include nights and weekends. The successful candidate is expected to be flexible regarding the assignment of day and evening instruction. Candidates should expect a job that requires being on campus five days a week.
The College is looking for exceptional colleagues. We seek candidates with an understanding of the college mission and preferably teaching experience in a comprehensive community college.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Facilitate classroom instruction; Teach assigned class in accordance with the learning objectives; Develop and maintain syllabus materials; Evaluate student performance; Maintain grades, enter midterm and final grades; Respond promptly to student inquiries; Maintain attendance records according to West Valley College standards; Integrate current and emerging instructional delivery technologies into the learning process; Maintain professional standards that protect student confidentiality; Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing using discretion, patience, and courtesy.
Successful candidates must reside in the San Francisco Bay Area and have the ability to work on campus as required.
