Augsburg University's APA-accredited Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) program invites applications for a core faculty position (non-tenure track) to begin in August 2026. Our program trains students using a broad, generalist, practitioner-scholar model. This adjunct position will remain open for 1 year to allow departments' access to candidate pools when there is a need to hire an adjunct to teach a course(s) during defined academic semester(s).
ABOUT THE POSITIONS AND THE BSAM PROGRAM AT NORMANDALE
Normandale Community College is seeking part-time faculty members to join the Business Department to teach in the area of business software. Faculty teaching in the Business Software and Administrative Management program affiliate with the Business Department, which is committed to providing a core foundation of business principles to students of all backgrounds. The BSAM curriculum supports the Business Software and Administrative Management Associate of Applied Science degree and certificate, as well as other Business degrees and certificates. Valuing a diversity of approaches and backgrounds in its faculty members, the Business Department encourages a participatory culture that affirms the engaged role faculty play in service to the college.

Minimum Qualifications (all three requirements must be met)
Education Requirement
Bachelor's degree in business, management, business education or marketing.
Occupational Experience Requirement
Two full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in business office applications and operations.
Recency Requirement
One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in business administration or business management; or
Coursework beyond the bachelor's degree
Post-secondary teaching experience
Microsoft Office Specialist Certification or five years' experience using the full suite of Microsoft Office applications
Instructional or work experience in one or more of the following areas: project management, business analytics, business applications of artificial intelligence, or workforce development
Experience serving diverse and underserved populations
Verifiable paid work experience in the field of business
An understanding of the community college mission and its unique student population
Experience in online learning and/or course delivery using web-based course management systems such as D2L
Commitment to applied and experiential learning in and outside of the classroom.
Experience teaching courses with innovative teaching practices to support the success and retention of underrepresented students, including students of color, first-generation students, and Pell eligible students
Evidence of continuous professional development related to diversity, equity, and inclusion

Position Summary: The Outdoor Skills Instructor will provide basic camping instruction, paddling instruction and environmental education for the I Can Paddle! and I Can Camp! programs. I Can Paddle! and I Can Camp! are part of several I Can! programs, developed and implemented by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR). I Can! programs introduce Minnesotans, especially families and people who are new to outdoor recreation, to a variety of outdoor activities including camping, fishing, paddling and mountain biking.
Every weekend throughout the summer season the Outdoor Skills Instructors will co-lead canoeing and kayaking paddling sessions as well as overnight camping workshops throughout their term. Each pair of instructors will be responsible for one of the following.
Teaching introductory paddling skills in the format of two-hour paddling workshops at Minnesota state parks. Up to two sessions per day.
Teaching introductory camping skills in the format of one or two-night overnight camp skills workshops taking place in MN state parks.
During the summer, instructors will travel and camp at state parks throughout Minnesota before and during programming. Instructors are responsible for monitoring weather and completing pre-trip calls with DNR staff to ensure workshops are safe to hold. Instructors will provide environmental education, offering information about local ecology and natural resources during each trip. Instructors will also handle day-of workshop operations including communicating any necessary workshop cancellations, properly cleaning and storing all equipment and maintaining regular communication with DNR and Conservation Corps staff.
Outdoor Skills Instructors must be able to serve effectively on a team comprised of their peers, helping fellow members achieve personal and program success through the principles of team-work and service-learning. Members must be responsive to instructions and feedback delivered by the Crew Leader, Regional Staff, and DNR staff. Outdoor Skills Instructors will be required to attend weekly team meetings and additional training opportunities throughout their term.
Duties & Responsibilities
Coordinate and provide instruction for camping and paddling workshops
Coordinate workshop logistics for multiple paddling and camping workshops each week, including communicating with the parks, co-leaders, and supervisors ahead of programming.
Communicate logistical details and equipment needs, including inventorying, organizing, cleaning, and repairing program gear throughout the term.
Abide by Corps program safety regulations as well as applicable federal/state/municipal law and OSHA requirements; communicate any safety concerns and incidents
Review safety protocols daily, begin each workshop with a safety briefing, ensure workshop participants follow safety protocols and abide by the rules of the Park, ensure adequate safety equipment, first-aid kit and functioning communication devices are available on all workshops
Contribute actively to the team to complete projects, demonstrating a commitment to the Corps values of safety, justice, stewardship, community and leadership.
Positive attitude, desire to learn new skills, interest in community service; represent Conservation Corps in positive manner in public
Commit to completing the entire service term per the start and end dates listed on the Member Service Agreement
Complete and approve timecards and other required reports and paperwork in timely manner
Hours & Schedule: Late May - Mid August 2026
Schedules can vary, depending on crew location. Crew members should expect to be scheduled for at least
30 hours per week. A typical schedule is Thursday - Sunday, with hours varying depending on workshop schedules and locations. A Monday-Friday schedule is typical for the first several weeks to accommodate training needs. Days include a mandatory 30-minute lunch break which does not count towards hours. Overnight travel (3 - 4 consecutive days) is often required for workshops.
Training & Development
The Corps provides orientation and skills training at the start of the program year. Additional region or project specific training may be included throughout the service term depending on project need, length of term and other factors. Examples of potential trainings include:

Camping: stoves, tents
Safety equipment: personal floatation devices, communication devices (phones, radios, GPS trackers), bailers, pumps, etc.

Qualifications

Knowledge of basic paddling skills, such as different stroke techniques.
Knowledge of basic camping skills, such as setting up a tent, building a campfire, camp stove cooking, hiking etiquette, and leave no trace principles.
Background in natural interpretation or knowledge of local ecology, biology, and history.
Experience with public speaking and/or teaching.
Experience working with diverse audiences.

Requirements
Essential Functions:
Teach knowledge and skills in art, including drawing, painting, lettering, and art history.
Demonstrate techniques in activities such as drawing and painting.
Knows and can apply elements of design and modern principles of art.
Knows the fundamentals and different approaches to drawing media techniques.
Provide individual and small-group instruction and adapt the curriculum to the needs of youth with varying artistic abilities, and to accommodate a variety of instructional activities.
Creates an environment where participants feel safe, welcome, and engaged with activities and program participants
Actively plan and execute art lesson plans tailored to youth participants.
Receives approval of curriculum from the Director of Youth Development for weekly art activity.
Assure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as they relate to program areas, including ADA accommodations where appropriate.
Ensure the YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures followed.
Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with staff, parents, and caregivers to maximize program impact and drive overall outcomes.
Maintain regular, clear, and concise communication with Youth Development staff and Director of Youth Development.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Youth Development.
Work Environment:

Necessary Skills and Qualifications:

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
Associate's degree in related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.

Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid, Mandated Reporter, and other relevant certifications.
Fulfillment of state-specific hiring standards and completion of YMCA program-specific training.
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
Possession of Spanish language both written and spoken.

The Bloomington-Normal YMCA adheres to the strictest regulations pertaining to Child Abuse Prevention and requires all staff and volunteers to complete Child Abuse Prevention Training at time of hire and on an annual basis. Position Responsibilities:
Lead B2R's early childhood classes (Rock n Roll, Rock City, and/or Kids n Keys)
Prepare for and deliver instruction using the Bach to Rock detailed lesson plans and activities
Create a warm and welcoming class environment in which young children can feel safe
Use the recommendations in the B2R curriculum to encourage and educate caregivers that attend class with their toddlers
May be asked to assist at B2R events
Requirements:
Must have a background in the arts (theater, art, music, etc...)
