Required Qualifications
Must be a graduate from an accredited CI Special Agent credentialing school, and one of the following JCITA source handling courses: Military Counterintelligence Collection (MCC) course, Advanced CI Collection Course (ACICC) and the Joint Military Counterintelligence Collection Course (JMCCC). Other qualifying courses such as the Defense Advanced Tradecraft Course (DATC), Advanced Source Operations Training Course (ASOTC), Military Operations Training Course (MOTC), Field Tradecraft Course (FTC), Operations Tradecraft Course (OTC), or an IC school equivalent or have experience conducting Level II MCC in accordance with the DoDI-S 5240.17.
The SME/instructor must have a minimum of ten (10) years of demonstrated experience conducting, supervising, and/or instructing, of CI or HUMINT collection activities and shall be able to sit or stand for up to four (4) hours at one time and be able to walk for up to five (5) miles in one day.

Additional Assignment:
The Mason Experimental Geometry Lab (MEGL) Outreach Director will receive a reduction of two courses per semester and leads the outreach branch of the Mason Experimental Geometry Lab (******************************* They engage the community through small-group activities at nearby K-12 schools and community centers, reaching approximately 1,000 students through 30 events each semester with the help of an outreach team consisting of 1-2 graduate students and 2-4 undergraduate students. The Outreach Director oversees and trains staff, schedules activities, and leads in-person activities. This additional assignment is considered to be an "at-will" position.
Required Qualifications:
* Master's degree in Mathematics, or equivalent coursework such as a Master's degree in Education with an undergraduate degree in Mathematics;

Position Responsibilities:
Teach private and semi-private lessons using Bach to Rock curriculum and cover song arrangements
Create an encouraging, fun, and focused lesson atmosphere
Assess a student's readiness to join a band or ensemble
Assist at school events
May repair equipment as needed and able.
Requirements:
Must demonstrate an understanding of music concepts and be able to communicate those concepts effectively to students
Intermediate/Advanced Skills on the Instrument this role is hiring for (ability to play other instruments is a massive bonus)
Must have an advanced understanding of music theory and technique relevant to primary instrument
Effective time management and organizational skills to keep students on task in a lesson
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a variety of personalities
Experienced performer (either solo or group)
Experience working with youth and/or beginning musicians
Ability to interact effectively with children and adults
Ability to pass a background check

About the Guitar Instructor Role
As a Guitar Instructor at Bach to Rock Herndon, you'll teach private lessons and small groups on acoustic and/or electric guitar (and optionally bass). You'll work with students of different ages and levelsfrom first-time players to more advanced musicianshelping them build solid technique, musical understanding, and performance confidence.
What You'll Do
Teach 30- and 60-minute private lessons (and occasionally small groups) on guitar (acoustic, electric, and/or bass).
Create lesson plans tailored to each student's age, level, and goals.
Prepare students for recitals, band programs, exams, and performances.
Communicate professionally with parents/guardians and adult students about progress and expectations.
Maintain a consistent teaching schedule and provide reliable, timely communication about any changes.
Collaborate with other instructors and staff on recitals, bands, camps, and events as needed.
What We're Looking For
Strong proficiency on guitar (acoustic and/or electric); bass skills are a plus.
Minimum of one of the following:
Currently enrolled in a music or music-related degree program, OR
23+ years consistent experience teaching guitar or leading youth programs, OR
12+ years emerging professional performance experience.
Comfort working with children and teens in a lesson setting.
Reliable personal transportation to our school.
Ability to commit to a consistent weekly teaching schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in Music, Music Education, or related field, OR
35+ years of private lesson teaching experience, OR
Experience playing in bands/ensembles and preparing students for performances.
Schedule & Pay
Part-time, hourly position based on lesson schedule.
Peak hours are weekday afternoons/evenings and Saturdays.
