Department Information
The Department of English teaches a range of core curriculum classes and offers a B.A. in English with optional career-ready concentrations in Creative Writing, Professional Writing, Secondary Education, and Pre-Law, along with minors in Creative and Professional Writing. The Department also offers an MA in Professional and Technical Writing and graduate certificates in Technical Writing and Digital Communication, Creative Writing, and Teaching College Writing. English faculty are exceptionally dynamic, accomplished, and highly qualified. We offer classes through different delivery methods (face-to-face, asynchronous online, hybrid, multi-modal, etc.) and reside in MGA's School of Arts & Letters, which also has degree programs in History, Art and Applied Design, Interdisciplinary Studies, Media and Communication, Modern Language, Music, Public Relations, and Core Curriculum.
Job Summary
Middle Georgia State University (MGA), a unit of the University System of Georgia, invites applications for a full-time Assistant/Associate Professor of English (tenure-track) to begin in August 2026. We seek a Rhetoric and Composition specialist to teach a variety of composition, professional writing, technical writing, and/or literature courses, as needed. Candidate selected for employment will be subject to a background check.
Responsibilities
This position involves teaching a 4/4 course load, scholarship, student advisement, and service. Travel among our campuses may be required as needed. Teaching responsibilities may include day and/or evening classes and online and/or hybrid classes.

Responsibilities:
With twelve colleges and schools, Mercer University has a Carnegie Research II classification and offers a vibrant academic community committed to student success and academic excellence. This position will be based at one of Mercer's metro-Atlanta pr Macon campuses and includes a seven-course teaching load spread across four accelerated 8-week sessions in addition to research expectations and service responsibilities.

Qualifications:

Primary Responsibilities:

Acting as a working lead man for the boot campers
Lectures classes on safety, installation, programming, testing, maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment- following the outlines, handouts and text materials
Demonstrates proper procedures being taught, such as programming, testing and repair
Observes class participants in the classroom and in the lab setting- answering questions and determining additional activities to ensure learning
Administers written and practical exams to determine understanding and competency. Creates performance reports to evaluate boot camper learning.
Schedules and secures equipment, training aides, training location and classroom related materials
Updates and develops training aides used in the classroom. Deal with vendors.
Participates in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to obtain information / skill sets needed to retain competency in the training arena

JOB SUMMARY:
The Assistant/Associate Professor of Veterinary Science is a full-time, 10-month, tenure-track position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Deliver didactic and clinical instruction in radiology, laboratory and biomedical procedures, and large and small animal diseases within the Veterinary Technology program.
* Provide veterinary care for in-house and research animals, ensuring health, welfare, and compliance with applicable regulations.
* Contribute to extension activities that support community engagement and knowledge dissemination.
* Participate in student recruitment efforts, including outreach events and program promotion.
* Engage in research and extension initiatives aligned with departmental goals and professional expertise.
* Perform additional job-related duties as assigned by the department or program leadership.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree.
* Eligible for licensure to practice Veterinary Medicine in the State of Georgia.
* Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in veterinary practice, with a preference for large animal practice.
* Proficient in the use of veterinary hospital software systems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Prior clinical teaching experience in veterinary medicine.
* Advanced post-DVM degree (e.g., MS, PhD, or board certification).
* Demonstrated potential for research and success in securing external funding.
* International teaching experience in the veterinary field, particularly within Colleges of Veterinary Medicine.
