In addition, the instructor must be personable and professional to everyone within the YMCA. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Conducts group exercise classes according to the YMCA of Greater Hartford Program Quality Guidelines, as well as the specific class format.
Supervise class participants and activities to ensure safety and report any irregularities to supervisor immediately.
Be a professional representative of the YMCA.
Be able to work as a team member, assisting fellow staff when necessary.
Make yourself available to all members regardless of age, gender, race, socioeconomic status, or fitness level. Share your knowledge and be a resource for concerns and fitness information.
Take responsibility to keep studio/exercise classroom and equipment neat and clean. Report any equipment issues to Wellness staff and/or coordinator.
Be familiar with emergency procedures. Responds promptly and appropriately.
Give supervisor at least two-week notice of schedule changes.
Assume total responsibility for obtaining qualified substitutes when needed and inform supervisor.
Allow at least ten minutes to prepare for class and allow for at least five minutes after class to be available for members.
Arrive for assigned class well-groomed and in proper uniform.
Attendance at staff meetings is mandatory.

Be able to work as a team member, assisting fellow staff when necessary.

Take responsibility to keep studio/exercise classroom and equipment neat and clean. Report any equipment issues to Wellness staff and/or coordinator.

Give supervisor at least two-week notice of schedule changes.
Assume total responsibility for obtaining qualified substitutes when needed and inform supervisor.
Allow at least ten minutes to prepare for class and allow for at least five minutes after class to be available for members.
Arrive for assigned class well-groomed and in proper uniform.
Attendance at staff meetings is mandatory.
Products or services that are not a part of the YMCA program(s) shall not be promoted or endorsed by an employee to any member or guest whether the employee is “on the clock” or not.

Position Summary:
All Teaching Faculty members shall: Prepare and teach college-approved courses in accordance with approved course descriptions and class schedules, including developing syllabi and reading lists and keeping each course taught complete and up to date; respond to and work with multiple constituencies, including students, peers (faculty and staff), and external agencies (business, community, educational, etc.); perform divisional departmental responsibilities in the selection of texts and related teaching resources; and other teaching and related duties as outlined on the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Example of Job Duties:
Under the direction of the Dean, Chair of the department or other administrator, this Instructor is expected to teach thirty (30) credit hours per academic year and will be responsible for teaching a range of courses in the discipline area of study. Additional duties may include evaluating and assessing student learning; providing student support and academic advising; planning and executing program-related events; assisting with program reviews; developing curriculum and periodically evaluating teaching materials; and attending workshops and or conferences to maintain currency in profession and field. General Statement of Duties:
The Westfield State University Department of Health Sciences seeks applications for part-time instructors to join our Part-time Faculty Pool. We currently have availability for the Spring 2026 semester for in-person courses including Human Assessment (Mon/Wed 1:40pm-2:55pm, and Mon/Wed 3:10pm-4:25pm).
We anticipate other available courses beginning in Fall 2026. The Health Sciences core courses currently consist of Introduction to Health Care Practice, Human Assessment, Medical Ethics, Research Methods in Evidence Based Practice, and Public Health Interventions. Courses typically have up to 25 students each. The Department of Health Sciences seeks outstanding candidates for its adjunct faculty positions to teach 3-9 credits as needed. The Health Sciences Department offers a BS with concentrations in Clinical, Community Health, Gerontology, and Occupational Therapy Assistant. Teachers are responsible for providing students with quality and up-to-date learning experiences. Part-time faculty will have access to a workspace, access to a campus computer, access to other department faculty, and access to all department events.

* Availability to students for office hours
Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
* Minimum of a master's degree in a health science related field, preference given to those with a terminal degree
* Documented expertise in at least one of the following areas: introductory healthcare skills and professions, human assessment, medical ethics, and applied research methods in health professions
* Candidates must demonstrate successful teaching, preference at the baccalaureate level
* Willingness to engage with our learning management system (Brightspace)
* A passion for implementing a variety of teaching and assessment strategies

Position Introduction:
The Department of Political Science at Vassar College invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor rank beginning in the 2026-27 academic year. We seek a specialist in International Relations with research and teaching interests in War and Peace, International Order, US Foreign Policy, International and National Security, and/or related fields. Preference will be given to candidates who employ a positivist, social-scientific approach to the study of politics, including, but not limited to, quantitative analysis, qualitative analysis such as comparative case studies, game theory, and formal modeling.
Job Description:
Candidates for this position must have completed a Ph.D. in Political Science or a related field by the time of appointment. The successful candidate will teach introductory, intermediate, and advanced courses in the international politics subfield. Pay Transparency Disclosure:
The annual base starting salary range for this position is $94,000 to $104,000 (USD). This range includes new faculty appointments beginning the first year of a standard tenure clock as well as Assistant Professors with previous tenure-line experience who will be on an accelerated tenure clock. When extending an offer of employment, Vassar College considers factors such as (but not limited to) candidate's education/training, work experience, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations. This salary range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate at the time of posting. The starting salary for an Assistant Professor in this position with a PhD beginning the first year of a standard tenure clock in Fall 2026 is $98,000.
