Responsibilities Instruction Provides classroom and clinical supervision for approximately twenty student radiographers assigned to St. Luke's Hospital. Provides clinical education for student radiographers assigned to St. Luke's Hospital by: Providing clinical instruction and supervision for student radiographers. Facilitating clinical evaluations of student educational progress either directly or through other faculty members. Coordinating and evaluating of the clinical competency program for each assigned student. Maintaining clinical records. Coordinating interactions and relationships between students, associates and the hospital. Resolving conflict between students, associates and medical staff that may hamper the students educational progress. Coordinates and evaluates the activities of the Clinical Instructors by: Meeting with them on a regular basis. Providing instruction and guidance on educational matters. Participates in didactic instruction as assigned by the Program Manager. Assists in the planning, implementation, presentation and evaluation of the approved curriculum. Produces lesson plans and class schedules to ensure continuity of education. Provides formal testing of students' knowledge of subjects presented. Keeps current with new technologies in area(s) of specific responsibility; documents, prepares recommendations and implements decisions relating to capital equipment, procedures, clinical activities, and quality assurance to assure a competitive posture for the hospital and Unity Point Health. Assists in preparing, reviewing, reporting, and adjusting practices within Imaging Services, and especially within assigned area(s), to meet necessary standards for Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospital Organizations, American College of Radiology, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and Iowa Department Public of Health. Assures compliance with all applicable state and federal law. Accountability Uses AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, and Thank You) with every patient interaction to create patient and family experiences consistent with the mission of St. Luke's Hospital. Perform patient transfers with approved transfer mobility equipment when appropriate. Qualifications Must possess or be in pursuit of a baccalaureate degree in an appropriate discipline. Must have a minimum of two years professional experience as a radiographer.
