DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will play a key role in gathering essential survey field data to support the design, maintenance, and construction teams. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Provide field staking for various types of construction projects such as electric line installation or substation grading and footings, water system/renewable energy facilities, power plant facilities, and other District owned facilities including telecommunications or natural gas line.
Additionally, assists in conducting surveys to monitor various equipment and other NPPD facilities throughout the state.

Assist in conducting bathymetric surveys.
Ensure proper maintenance and repair of survey equipment.
In a team effort with other Survey staff, fully participate in scheduling and coordinating survey activities to efficiently meet multiple projects and personnel demands including those of Survey staff, customers, property owners and outside agencies.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Land Surveyor is responsible for leading early-stage land legal descriptions and related mapping, project survey ordering, outside surveyor coordination, design overlays, and survey management from early stage, preconstruction, through financing and as-built surveys, and supporting title review functions for legal title due diligence and curative work.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Manage all land surveying activities in coordination with development, engineering, GIS, and land/title teams throughout the project lifecycle.

The Kleingers Group is looking for an Inside Survey Technician. Responsible for accurate calculations of construction staking and technical preparation of data for field projects. Coordinating mapping projects. Create legal descriptions, survey plats, job estimates and field calculations. Excellent understanding of all surveying technology. Responsible for recognizing inconsistencies and alerting management. This position can be centered in The Kleingers Group office in any of these locations: West Chester, OH, Columbus, OH, Louisville, KY, Tampa/St. Pete, FL, Indianapolis, IN, or Akron, OH.
Essential Functions and Requirements:
5+ years of inside survey tech experience
Perform calculations required for stakeout, boundary, or topographic surveys.
Interpret notes, sketches and records of data obtained.
Understand all technology, including GPS, Robotic total stations, and conventional survey methods.
Coordinate with field and office personnel and provide office support for field staff.
Proficient use of AutoCAD, Civil3D and other surveying software.
Verify the accuracy, thoroughness and reasonability of data and calculations.
Recognize inconsistencies and alert manager in a timely manner.
On occasion travel to job sites - follow all safety standards and policies. Wear protective equipment as directed.
Maintain a positive work atmosphere
Maintain familiarity with local public offices for document research and recording standards.
Be familiar with types of document types and recording methods; perform document research at various public offices.

About the Role
The Gas Leak Survey Technician reports to the Assistant Manager or Supervisor at Bermex. This position plays a key role in surveying gas lines, meters, piping, and surrounding areas for evidence of gas leaks using a Methane Leak Detector. This position requires a high degree of physical activity, working in a wide variety of weather conditions, excellent time management, and exceptional attention to detail.
What You'll Do
Gas Leak Surveying:
Surveys gas leaks by walking from site to site
Follows sketches and diagrams to identify gas line locations
Utilizes a Remote Methane Leak Detector (RLMD) or similar device to detect natural gas leaks
Performs visual inspections of gas meters, lines and fittings
Grades gas leaks by level of severity and reports/escalates accordingly
Follows strict Utility, State and Federal guidelines relating to surveying, grading, and reporting gas leaks
Collects data using handheld computer or other collection device
Follows safety, quality, and operational procedures
Completes assigned routes and work orders on the assigned date
Survey in Various Environmental Conditions:
Extensively walk and stand for much of the workday
Walk for long distances in various weather conditions (rain, sleet, hail, snow, extreme heat or cold, etc.)
Exert physical force moving objects (routinely 10lbs of force, up to an occasional 50lbs of force)
Customer & Team Communication:
Refers all consumer complaints to the appropriate authorities
Provides timely reports and documentation to management per procedures
May provide general information about services to customers, when applicable
Use telephones, tablets, and/or computers to communicate
Participates in safety meetings
Shows courtesy and professionalism when dealing with customers and other employees
Other duties as assigned.
About You
Must Haves:
Experience: 1 year of continuous work with the same employer, and/or 6 or more months working outdoors. Upon hire, the candidate will need to complete and pass all Pipeline Operator Qualification (OQ) training. Must possess a valid driver's license.
Nice to Have:
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: 1 or more years of experience in gas services; 2 years of continuous work with the same employer, and/or 1 or more years working outdoors.
