Here's what you'll be doing:
Assist other mechanics and automotive technicians with diagnosing cause of any malfunction and perform repair Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by the customer Assist with examination of vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required Assist in documenting any work performed Attend factory-sponsored training classes to advance to become a main line automotive technician (mechanic) Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins Ensure that customers' cars are kept clean Always keep shop area neat and clean and be able to account for all dealership-owned tools Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations, such as those governing disposal of hazardous wastes Assist in road-testing vehicles to quality-check work performed Master our Dealer Management System (Reynolds) for time keeping, work distribution, electronic inspections, repair quotes and communication Be accountable to all dealership owned tools, and superior cleanliness throughout workspace and in all customer vehicles (“leave no trace” standard)

You will need to follow assigned work directives provided by the Lead Technician/Crew Chief in order to get the home or business back to pre-loss condition.

Job Responsibilities



Performs water/fire/smoke damage and mold remediation repair as directed by supervisor to include water extraction, pack-out of contents, removing/disposing of non-salvageable materials, cleaning, light construction and demolition Sets up and monitors air movers and/or dehumidifiers May perform other cleaning duties (i.e., construction cleaning, fire/smoke/odor cleaning, mold remediation, carpet and upholstery cleaning, etc.) when part of mitigation or restoration jobs

What does an Apprentice Technician at Hoffman Auto Group do?

Role Purpose

Repair vehicles in an efficient and ethical manner under the supervision of a Technician and/or Shop Foreman.


Core Accountabilities

  1. Learn to Read and understand customer complaints; diagnose and advise findings; complete all authorized repairs in accordance with manufacturer and company policy; return warranty parts to parts dept and road test vehicles as needed to verify completion of repairs.
  2. Learn how to Properly document all repairs using both internet-based tools and physical Repair Order documentation as instructed per department requirements.
  3. Learn how to utilize computer to remain up to date on manufacturer recalls and/or technical data.
  4. Complete training required set by the manager.
  5. Learn how to maintain a clean and neat work area. Perform daily inspections of your work area.
  6. Learn how to stay compliant with all safety and OSHA regulations.
