The NJATC on behalf of the IBEW and in cooperation with the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters (UA) is presently administering a certification exam for a Journeyman Wireman to demonstrate his or her proficiency in the field of instrumentation. This program is one method for a Journeyman Wireman to assess his or her skills in the field of Instrumentation.
This certification program was designed for engineering technicians who are engaged in a combination of the following instrumentation system activities: design assistance, installation and maintenance of industrial measurement and control systems, and the installation and maintenance of a variety of electrical, electronic, and pneumatic instruments used within systems.
A technician with six or more years combined work and electronics training may be eligible for the ETA Master Certified Electronics Technician (CETma) certification. The Master certification was created to showcase those technicians who are able to demonstrate proficiency in the many fields of electronics. In addition to the Associate level certification, one must successfully obtain six other certifications, with no more than two originating from the same specialized category, in order to qualify.
The Association's certification programs are the most highly recognized for quality and comprehensiveness within the healthcare industry.
Industrial journeyman-level electronics technicians are expected to obtain knowledge of industrial electronics basic concepts, which are then applicable to all the various specialty areas of industry. Industrial Electronics Technicians must be knowledgeable and have abilities in the following technical and human relations areas: Amplifiers, Optical Wiring, Block Diagrams-Schematics, Power Supplies, Test Equipment-Tools, Mathematics, Computers-Digital Concepts, Safety, Satellite-Wireless-Data, Communications, Cabling, Troubleshooting, Motors, Programmable Logic Controllers, and Software.
Technology changes. Standards update. Instrumentation evolves. The learning curve for Central Service professionals is steep and ever-changing, and the demands placed on them ever-growing. To help professionals stay abreast of rapidly changing medical technology, IAHCSMM offers the Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) exam, which tests knowledge and recognition of medical instruments, as well as reviewing instrumentation practice skills. The CIS exam will test your proficiency in the identification and cleaning of medical instruments, and upon completing and passing the exam you will hold the designation of Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS).
This exam deals only with surgical instruments and is for those that specialize in processsing of surgical instruments for all areas of their facility. It deals specifically with types of surgical instruments, how to identify them using pictures and how to use them.
PTCB's pharmacy technician certification program enables technicians to work more effectively with pharmacists to offer safe and effective patient care and service. Certification is achieved by meeting specific eligibility requirements and earning a passing score on the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE). The PTCB certification program is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).
A Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) draws blood from patients or donors in hospitals, blood banks, or similar facilities for analysis or other medical purposes.
