Clinical Documentation Support Specialist
Andhealth
Columbus, OH
Job Description
Clinical Documentation Support Specialist Full Time Columbus, OH
AndHealth is on a mission to radically improve access and outcomes for the most challenging chronic health conditions with the goal of making world-class specialty care accessible and affordable to all. We partner with health systems, community health centers, plans, and employers to remove barriers to care to ensure all people have access to the care they deserve.
We are looking for a Clinical Documentation Support Specialist who will play an essential connective role between AndHealth and our partners' EHRs. At AndHealth, every care journey involves multiple systems and teams-and that's where you come in. You'll ensure clinical information flows precisely and promptly in both directions, translating real-time updates into clear, accurate documentation while coordinating with providers and staff across organizations. This is not a passive, back-office role; it's a frontline opportunity to enable whole-person care across care teams, prevent errors, and make it possible for clinicians to spend more time with patients. If you thrive on connecting the dots, navigating ambiguity, and making healthcare smoother and more human through gold-standard documentation, this is the role where you'll do your most meaningful work.
What you'll do in the role:
Replicate accurate, timely clinical information (e.g., referrals, appointments, orders, care updates, etc.) from AndHealth into our partners' EHRs, following site-specific conventions, documentation standards, and required fields.
Retrieve and reconcile key updates from partner EHRs back into AndHealth systems so statuses and records match across platforms.
Lead the creation and iteration of these processes and their associated documentation (SOPs) and manage versioning and change tracking.
Serve as the first problem-solver for documentation exceptions (missing records, conflicting statuses, misrouted referrals); resolve directly or escalate swiftly to the appropriate owner.
Serve as AndHealth's EHR-based “Front Door”, as you facilitate high-quality communication loops among providers, clinic staff, schedulers, and AndHealth teams to clarify orders, close gaps, and keep everyone aligned.
Deliver a “wow” experience in every interaction by being proactive, precise, and easy to work with-so providers feel confident in our process and patients benefit from seamless care.
Train and support teammates as the team grows, while partnering with the Product and Engineering teams to surface friction points and propose process improvements.
Education & Licensure Requirements:
Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
Other Skills or Qualifications:
Experience with Epic or other Electronic Health Record (EHR) preferred
Background in a primary care and/or hospital setting preferred
Experience with highly regulated data and/or document entry preferred
Strong communication skills.
Excellent relationship building skills.
Here's what we'd like to offer you:
Equal investment and support for our people and patients.
A fun and ambitious start-up environment with a culture that takes on important things, takes risks, and learns quickly.
The ability to demonstrate creativity, innovation, and conscientiousness, and find joy in working together.
A team of highly skilled, incredibly kind, and welcoming employees, every one of whom has something unique to offer.
We know that the overall success of our business is a collaborative effort, and we strive to provide ongoing opportunities for our employees to learn and grow, both personally and professionally.
