The primary purpose of the Machine Operator is to operate and monitor machines used in the production of the organization's product. May be involved in equipment set-up, and preventative maintenance of more complex assignments and/or perform finish operations.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
Adheres to Integer Values and all safety, environmental, security and quality requirements including, but not limited to: Quality Management Systems (QMS), Safety, Environmental and Security Management Systems, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, company policies and operating procedures, and other regulatory requirements.
Applies proficiency within discipline, completes tasks and assignments and solves routine problems with some latitude for independent judgment.
May be involved in equipment set-up and/or of more complex assignments.
Loads component materials into product specific tools and/or performs finishing operations.
Reads and follows operating manuals, maintenance instructions and procedures.
Inspects parts visually with aid of microscope and/or dimensionally to assure conformance to requirements.
Follows established documentation for product manufacturing.
Completes required documentation.
Cleans and maintains machinery, as necessary.
Expands skill base through on-the-job training, cross training, job rotations, and classroom instruction.
Participates in team activity focusing on continuous improvement initiatives
Performs other functions as required.
Education & Experience:
Minimum Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Technical degree or certification preferred.
Minimum Experience: A minimum of 2 years related work experience operating machinery in a regulated manufacturing environment; medical device experience preferred.
Knowledge & Skills:
Special Skills: Working knowledge of drawings and blueprints with ability to interpret information. Ability to work with small precision parts. Ability to read in English, comprehend and follow detailed instructions. Must have basic knowledge of visual and dimensional inspection techniques.
This is a first shift position with the hours of 5:30am to 4:00pm Monday through Thursday.
Salary for this position is $19.00 - $27.42 per hour.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Machine Operator role performs a variety of duties in the set-up and operation of equipment as defined in the work instructions for each process.
What a typical day looks like:
Reviews production schedules, process procedures and specifications regarding the sequential start-up, operation and control of automated equipment and peripheral hardware.
Performs automated equipment set-up functions which include the loading of electronic components, raw cards, feeders, fixtures, stencils, chemicals, etc.
Performs sequential start-up for the automated equipment and all peripheral hardware.
Monitors the operation of the automated equipment and peripheral hardware. Initiates adjustments to ensure that the automated equipment and peripheral hardware operate within the established control limits.
Monitors the shelf-life usage of perishable chemicals, moisture sensitive parts and raw card assemblies.
Inspects quality levels of production on the automated equipment and peripheral hardware. Adjusts equipment or hardware when workmanship drops below quality specifications. Initiate rework/repair activities on product that is substandard to the specifications.
Records data required for statistical process control or inventory management.
Performs preventive maintenance on the automated equipment and peripheral hardware at specified intervals and schedules.
Performs sequential shutdown, including the cleaning of the automated equipment or peripheral hardware
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
Completion of a high school degree or equivalent is required
Minimum of 5+ years of machine operator experience or experience in a related area required
Completion of company provided training may be required.
Able to read and comprehend moderately complex instructions.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees, leads and supervisors of the organization.
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using weight measurement and distance.

Sets up and operates a multi-unit pocket on the Longford and coordinates with Supervisor, ensuring each job is run according to customer specifications and meeting internal and external deadlines; maintains quality control and reduces waste or machine downtime.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Examine job orders to determine quantities to be used in project, stock specifications, colors, or special instructions. Ensure that team members know job details to ensure proper product quality.
* Verify that foil is received and meets the specifications for the job being produced.
* Initiate and perform make-readies, including instruction to other team members to assist.
* Perform general operations maintenance activities. Ensure speed and quality are maintained.
* Determine first save copies on all start-ups.
* Collect and inspect random samples during runs to identify any necessary adjustments.
* Ensure quality standards required by customers are met and maintained. Perform duties to achieve, maintain and monitor quality of signatures throughout the run, including such things as: maintaining consistency.
* Ensure that correct proof is available for each job and returned upon completion of the job (includes O.K.'d sample packs).
* Direct team members to establish and review a list of maintenance tasks to be performed during major make-readies.
* Direct and coordinate team members interactions to ensure proper machine operations.
* Monitoring and directing activities to ensure proper pack quality. .
* Generate required records and waste reports.
* Maintain waste within acceptable range as defined by management per the job.
* Ensure proper housekeeping on and around machine and work area.
* Ensure that all safety mechanisms (such as guards, interlocks and other devices) are in proper condition and report any deficiencies to supervision immediately. Engage Lockout/Tagout if necessary.
* Attend and participate in required meetings and training.

This is the first step in manufacturing aluminum trailers. Must recognize and be conscious of quality, tolerance and accuracy of finished parts. Will operate ( brake press, benders, saws, belt sanders, CNC milling centers, and a shear ) in order to fill job orders. Will deburr, blow out all parts, stack and band all finished parts. Will operate and maintain set ups on special purpose machines where operations may involve several progressive machining sequences, and will give instructions on operating procedures. Requires complete knowledge of machine shop operations as acquired by on-the-job training and experience. Operation responsibility includes but are not limited to verifying blueprints, 1st piece inspections, proper measurements, safety of equipment operator is using, accurate count of parts and proper documentation on job orders. The work is repetitive and subject to processes inspection.
Position Duties:
Reads job order and blueprint specifications.
Set up machinery for jobs to run efficiently with all parts checked to blueprint and job order.
Operate machinery efficiently while maintaining 1st piece inspection on all parts, all 1st piece inspections are checked to the job order and blueprint.
Demonstrate timely communication of needed materials.
Responsible for the safety of the equipment he/she is using. Responsible for notifying supervisor of any and all repairs needed.
Recognize obvious defective or damaged parts, incorrect sizes, faulty workmanship and general quality. Double check job order to finished part.
Must be able to follow directives and procedures and complete paperwork.
Ensure no material is used or moved unless it has a part number on it.
All counts must be consistently accurate.
Work area must be maintained as clean and organized.
Work in compliance with all safety, quality and housekeeping standards in accordance with company policies.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Required Education:
A high school and/or GED is preferred.
Must be able to read tape measure and follow a job order.
Good math skills are required, must be able to give accurate counts. Must pass a measuring test.
Must be able to read blueprints, must pass a blueprint reading test with 85% accuracy or higher.
Good verbal and written communication skills are required, must have legible penmanship.
Training:
Requires a fundamental knowledge of machine shop operations as required by short job training and experience.
Must have some direct experience setting up some or all of the machines, brake press, punch press, drill press, benders, saws, belt sanders, shear, and CNC milling centers.
Prefer direct experience instructing others and working as part of a team.
Qualifications:
Physically fit to perform lifting assignments with a weight limit of no more than 40lbs.

The primary purpose of the Senior Machine Operator is to operate and monitor machines used in the production of the organization's product. May be involved in equipment set-up, and preventative maintenance of complex assignments and/or perform finish operations.
