Performs echocardiography on adults and pediatric patients

Completes the necessary procedures for sterilization per manufacturer instructions and hospital procedures.
Responsible for preparing and documenting sterilization process charts, logs and records per hospital and regulatory guidelines.
Completes high level disinfectant process education annually, as applicable.
For Breast Sonographers:
Performs breast Ultrasound procedures
Reviews patient relevant previous imaging exams prior to the breast sonography exam
Interviews the patient to acquire clinical history
Correlates physical findings with adjunct imaging modalities
Optimizes the breast sonography exam by using the following as appropriate, doppler, color doppler, and panoramic imaging
Provide imaging assistance to the radiologist for interventional breast ultrasound procedures.
With an ARRT registry in Mammography and Radiology can operate radiographic equipment and monitors it for functionality, promptly reports malfunctions

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
Two semesters of school experience from an accredited Radiology program, verified with the program director
LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:
BLS (Basic Life Support) Issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association OR CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) Issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 30 days of hire
Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written).
Operates and monitors for proper functioning of radiographic equipment under their use, while promptly reporting malfunctions.
Uses safety devices such as cones, collimators, lead aprons, gloves and gonad shields to assure maximum radiation safety.
Performs necessary computer and clerical functions regarding radiology requests.
Stocks and maintains orderliness in radiographic exam rooms.
Utilizes appropriate nursing procedure technique to provide necessary care and safety for patients while in the radiology department.
Reports to: Radiology Chief Technologist and/or Radiology Shift Supervisor
Accountable for: Satisfactory attendance by regularly reporting to work for scheduled shift, clocking in at scheduled start time, completing assigned duties in a timely, efficient and cost effective manner. Providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
