The Clinical Supervisor assists with the coordination and management of clinical activities and is responsible for scheduling, supervising, counseling and disciplining of clinical staff. This position requires population specific competencies. Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on the level of patient contact this position requires. BLS Certification 1 year of work experience as an RN or LPN; experience with physician practice preferred The Clinical Supervisor responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Supervises nursing and other clinical staff, including hiring, promotions, performance evaluation, skills assessments, counseling and disciplinary actions Works annually with clinic manager in development of clinic budget Ensures clinical staff is following proper procedures of documentation and chart review for completeness and accuracy Addresses complaints in a timely manner when it is regarding the nursing function Monitors and evaluates the clinical care provided by the nursing staff to all patients Evaluates and communicates need for quality improvement to the clinical staff Responsible for all clinic management activities when the clinic manager is out of the office Supervises and coordinates the delegation and implementation of patient care of licensed and non-licensed personnel for assigned shift/area. Reports to the clinic manager. This position may have additional or varied physical demand and/or respiratory fit test requirements. Potential for exposure to human specimens, urine, blood and body fluids/secretions, communicable diseases, and needles. Must follow standard precautions. Nurses must know and use standard universal precautions when encountering a potential biological hazard. Communicable disease precautions are taken into consideration with any possible exposure. Position is exposed daily to used needles, sharps and contaminated medical instruments. Adverse working conditions are limited to working with many patients in small work areas and wearing standard universal protective clothing.

The CCU/IU nurse monitors the overall hemodynamic status of the critically ill patient while performing head to toe assessments, assessing all body systems, rhythms and invasive lines, tubes and drains. In the CCU and IU, the Registered Nurse is expected to administer, titrate and monitor critically ill patients on critical medications Many of these patients are post-surgical and require intense monitoring. CCU/IU Nurses are required to stay current with both BLS and ACLS certifications. The Registered Nurse in CCU functions in units we call pods. This design allows the OHH nurse to maintain a 1:1 or 1:2 nurse patient ratio in the Critical Care Department and a 1:3 nurse patient ratio in the Interventional Unit. This allows CCU/IU nurses adequate time to monitor and care for critically ill patients thus ensuring the highest quality, safe and patient-focused care. Qualifications Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing program. Licensure/Certification: Registered Nurse with current Oklahoma licensure. Current BLS certification required at the time of hire and ACLS certification within 18 months of hire. Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of continuous experience in telemetry or related cardiac clinical setting preferred.
