The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Networked Information Solutions Division.
Roles and Responsibilities
As an intern, you'll participate in a summer internship program to develop competencies in a variety of software engineering specializations that may include:
• Embedded Software Engineering
• Agile Software Development
• DevOps
• SW Integration and Test
• Software Automation
• Design, develop, document, test and debug software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
• Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or systems engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems.
• Determine computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
• Ensure software standards are met.
Basic Qualifications
A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and will be enrolled full time in Fall 2026
Be majoring in ComputerScience, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a closely related STEM field
Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2026.
Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Planning, designing, and developing Automation framework and infrastructure.
· Closely interact with Senior Engineers on the team for design, development and debugging for your project
· Analyzing and working on Azure Cloud products to implement Server Automation infrastructure.
· Accountable on time delivery of deliverables.
· Has accountability for results in a particular area of work.
· Attend weekly meetings, status communication, presentations to the team

The NVIDIA Math Libraries team is seeking interns in the area of quantum computing software development. We have extended NVIDIA's accelerated computing platform that has revolutionized HPC and AI, with the cu Quantum SDK. This exciting product helps researchers and framework builders in Quantum Computing (QC) tackle larger problems faster and increase the pace of innovation.
During this internship you will work closely with engineering and research teams across NVIDIA to help design, develop, and optimize software to accelerate different elements of QC workflows. Ideal candidates will have a curiosity about developing proof-of-concept implementations quickly and a willingness to iterate on those. Are you passionate about groundbreaking technology? What you'll be doing:
Assist with software engineering activities around proof-of-concept development of creative and innovative algorithms.
Collaborate with team members and specialists from other teams to understand software use cases and requirements
Help productize new functionality through design, development, debugging, testing, and documentation under the mentorship of senior engineers on your team
Analyze the performance of GPU or CPU implementations and find opportunities for algorithmic or implementation improvements
Present your results and findings throughout your internship
What we need to see:
Pursuing a M.S. or Ph.D. degree in ComputerScience, Applied Math, Physics, or other related science or engineering field
Experience with quantum algorithms, programming systems, or hybrid classical/quantum computations
Strong software development skills with C++ and Python
Strong fundamentals in algorithms and numerical methods, particularly linear algebra
Good teamwork, communication, and documentation skills
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
Experience with Tensor Networks or State Vector or Quantum Error Correction methods for Quantum Circuit Simulations
Parallel programming experience using multi-threading
CUDA C++ programming experience
