Pros of working at Intellectual Ventures

Many of my colleagues are brillaint

Cons of working at Intellectual Ventures

It is a patent troll vs an innovation firm. They just sued Tesla but also sue their own former employees. The CEO Nathan Myhrvold is in his mid 60s and spends most of his time photographing food and birds and the acting VP Holloway was brought in and gutted Advanced Physics Lab’s director division and then was key in suing two of their lead researchers, so there is no trust in the organization.

What do you like best about Intellectual Ventures's CEO and the leadership team?

They are a bunch of old white guys who thrive on using money and power vs innovation

How would you improve Intellectual Ventures's culture?

Replace the current CEO and VP's with people who actually know how to create value vs suing their way though life.

How did you prepare for the Intellectual Ventures interview?

it is all about who you know and I was friends with their VP of research so got to bypass the normal HR process.

How does your compensation at Intellectual Ventures compare to the industry average?

Average but no stock options so over time it is far less than most tech companies

What's the diversity at Intellectual Ventures like?

We have very little diversity and few other women.

What brings you the most joy at Intellectual Ventures?

Easy low pressure work environment (from home often).
