Intelligence analyst job description

On the battlefield, success depends on accurate and timely intel. As an Army National Guard Intelligence Analyst, you will play a key role in the interpretation and exploitation of information gathered from or about the threat. Intelligence Analysts provide Guard personnel with information about enemy forces and potential battle areas, and use information derived from all intelligence disciplines to determine changes in enemy capabilities, vulnerabilities, and probable courses of action. You'll gain Military Intelligence training, education, and a security clearance that could open doors to rewarding career opportunities with other intelligence agencies.

Specific duties of the Intelligence Analyst may include: preparing all-source intelligence products; providing Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) Synchronization support; processing incoming reports and messages; determining the significance and reliability of incoming information; establishing and maintaining systematic, cross-referencing intelligence records and files; integrating incoming information with current intelligence holdings; and preparing and maintaining enemy situational graphics.

Job training for an Intelligence Analyst consists of 10 weeks of Basic Training, where you'll learn basic Soldiering skills, and 13 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT) and on-the-job instruction, including practice in intelligence gathering. You'll learn in the classroom and gain experience in the field. Completion of your initial entry training in the Army National Guard could also lead to additional college credit.

GDIT has an opening for a CND Analyst - Cyber Intelligence Expert position supporting the Army National Guard (ARNG) in Chantilly, VA. This is an IT Service Management contract in support of the operation, modernization, expansion, and further evolution of the ARNG's global Information Technology (IT) services including networking, compute, storage, infrastructure, applications, hosting, and program management services. The GECOS program supports the ARNG enterprise IT infrastructure, its Wide Area Network (WAN), authentication and directory services, cybersecurity, application hosting, and associated services. GECOS uses ITIL best practices framework as the basis for IT Service Management (ITSM) model.

The CND Analyst - Cyber Intelligence Expert will:

• Provides technical expertise in cyber adversary capabilities by assessing intentions of adversary groups to conduct Computer Network Exploitation (CNE) and Computer Network Attack (CNA) against ARNG.

• Skilled in reviewing ingest of cyber news feeds, signature updates, incident reports, threat briefs, vulnerability alerts, and Government threat intelligence feeds (e.g., DISA, Army, RCC-NG, US-CERT, ARCYBER, NETCOM, and CYBERCOM) up to Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) levels.

• Interprets potential threats to hardware and software and recommend RCC-NG risk mitigations, countermeasures, and detection activities as part of the overarching CND.

• Authors and distributes cyber intelligence information based upon knowledge of adversary Techniques, Tactics, and Procedures (TTPs) and collaborates in the development of enterprise playbooks for automation and orchestration.

• Responsible for integrating cyber threat, vulnerability, and asset management information reporting and providing situational awareness to ARNG leadership, RCC-NG, SOC analysts, incident responders, and strategic enterprise level decision makers.

• Supervises CND Analysts, as necessary.
