The Senior Business IntelligenceAnalyst will be responsible for supporting the data, reporting, and analytical needs across the entire Munich Re Specialty North America (MRSNA) Claims portfolio. The role will involve analyzing and synthesizing claims data from multiple sources, producing high quality insights that demonstrate a full narrative, and communicating to key stakeholders including executives and senior leadership across the MRSNA organization. They will be fully responsible for the development of dashboards, easily digestible data visualizations, and other reports to support a data driven claims operation.
Responsibilities
In this position you will:
Collaborate with various departments within MRSNA to independently respond to requests and provide business insights from claims data by producing accurate and meaningful dashboards / reports
Provide in-depth analysis and detailed insights to support planning, forecasting, severity management, capacity and workload management
Develop deep understanding of claims severity and frequency trends, drivers, and components while contributing to multiple complex analyses
Create new visualizations or reinvent existing Claims reports and dashboards by pulling data from different data warehouses at MRSNA (Duck Creek, ISyCL, IRDW, Snowflake, FSRI, Universal, Bridge)
Create process and governance documentation including data dictionaries to ensure operational continuity, assist with other data analysis activities (data cleaning, querying, visualization, etc.)
Support the quarterly Outlier review process for MR Group reporting and financial recommendations
Qualifications
Successful candidates will possess the following experience/skills/qualifications:
BA/BS required, MS preferred in Data Science, Business Analysis, Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and employment
8+ years of experience in P&C insurance industry with solid understanding of P&C Insurance data
8+ years as a technical data analyst, with experience in advanced SQL and proficient in querying data using MS SQL Server
Demonstrated experience with data visualization tools such Power BI, Advanced SQL, Excel, PowerPoint Skills (screening will be conducted to assess knowledge of SQL, Power BI and Excel)
Proven track record of collaboration and working effectively with a multi-functional team and throughout the organization; foster an environment of shared responsibility and accountability
Experience in providing data driven consultation and business communication to executive leadership
Strong knowledge of analyzing datasets using Excel

The Company is open to considering candidates in numerous locations, including Chicago (IL), New York City (NYC), Philadelphia (PA), Hartford (CT), and Princeton (NJ). The salary range posted below reflects market variations across various locations. The offer will be adjusted per geography.
The base salary range anticipated for this position is $99,700-$166,100, plus opportunity for company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay. In addition, the company makes available a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, 401k match, retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
The salary estimate is adjusted to reflect the varying market conditions across different locations, with the with the higher end being more aligned with the NYC job market. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the range.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The target annual salary range for this position is $72,000-$75,000. Requirements

Must pass a one (1) week Direct Supervision class. Successful completion of the above qualifications does not guarantee employment.
The physical agility and written examination shall be waived for applicants who meet all the below requirements:
* Are currently employed as a Correctional Officer in the state of Illinois, working in a County or State Correctional Facility. Federal Prison employees are not eligible for lateral transfers.
* Are in good standing in their department, with no prior disciplinary suspensions issued.

Role OverviewWe are looking for a Business IntelligenceAnalyst based in our Chicago HQ who can elevate our BI function and serve as a central pillar of the team's long-term evolution.
This person will bring the maturity, analytical horsepower, technical depth, and cross-functional communication skills to continuously improve the BI team.
You'll be the connective tissue between Product, Engineering, Customer Success, Sales, and Marketing, to provide clean data, rigorous analysis, clear insights, and scalable BI systems.
Given the distributed nature of the current BI team, this role will serve as the analytical anchor inside HQ, helping drive structure, quality, and consistency across the department.
Key Responsibilities
Core Analytics & Insights
Clean, structure, and maintain datasets from internal and external sources.
Analyze data to identify trends, anomalies, and insights.
Assist in creating dashboards and recurring internal reports.
Support CS, Sales, and Marketing teams with data pulls and insights.
Help prepare data and visuals for customer-facing deliverables.
Data Architecture & Systems
Support improvements in data organization, hygiene, and workflow documentation.
Assist in maintaining BI processes, valuation inputs, and scoring systems.
Help maintain CRM cleanliness and reporting.
Contribute to building repeatable and scalable BI processes.
Cross-Functional Partnership
Assist Customer Success and Professional Services with analytical project needs.
Help prepare adoption reports, customer insights, and product usage summaries.
Support leadership and team members on ad-hoc analytical tasks.
Research & Data Collection
Collect and organize publicly available datasets (e.g., Census data, benchmarks).
Support discovery of new BI data sources and analytical opportunities.
General Expectations
Communicate clearly with both technical and non‑technical colleagues.

Qualifications
1-2 years of experience in analytics, BI, data, advanced analysis degree program or related roles.

Basic SQL literacy
Strong communication skills, including ability to translate data into insights.
Highly curious, organized, and detail‑oriented.
