Organizational Location: This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Enforcement and Removal Operations, within the 25 FOD locations and are assigned based on the needs to the agency ERO Field Offices.
As a Deportation Officer at the Entry Level you will work with more experienced officers to provide support and perform the following segments of work related to immigration investigation, custody, identification and location, arrest, prosecution and deportation:
* Assist with the apprehension of individuals that are accused of violating immigration or related laws;
* Assist with preparing investigative reports in sufficient detail and accuracy to support possible prosecution and/or administrative action;
* Perform law enforcement support duties such as taking fingerprints and photographs;
* Conduct routine interviews using various law enforcement methods and techniques (e.g., observation, interviews, document inspection, data analysis, etc.) to respond to a variety of immigration inquiries and complaints; and
* Document, transport, deport, and/or escort criminal and non-criminal migrants under the guidance of a more senior officer.
* Initiate both criminal and civil prosecutions and deport migrants to foreign countries as well as performing various aspects of custodial operations related to civil immigration enforcement.

Qualifications
You qualify for the GL-5 grade level if you possess one of the following:
Experience: Three (3) years of progressively responsible general experience, one (1) year of which was equivalent to at least a GS-4, in the Federal government. The experience must demonstrate the ability to: analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; plan and organize work; communicate effectively orally and in writing; and deal effectively with others in person-to-person situations. (Note: Such experience may have been gained in administrative, professional, technical, investigative, or other responsible work. Experience in substantive and relevant secretarial, clerical, or other responsible work is qualifying if it provided evidence of the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of this position. Experience of a general clerical nature, i.e. typing, filing, routine procedural processing, maintaining records, or other non-specialized tasks, is NOT creditable.);
OR-
Education: Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a Bachelor's degree. This education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. One year of full-time undergraduate study is defined as 30 semester or 45 quarter hours; OR-
Combination of Education and Experience: Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for GL-5 and will be computed by first determining the total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience requirement; then determining education as a percentage of the education requirement; and then adding the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent.
You qualify for the GL-7 grade level if you possess one of the following:
Experience: One (1) year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-5 level in the Federal government) performing basic trainee level duties such as: conducting interviews and writing basic reports to be included in case records; securing signed statements, affidavits and documentary evidence; searching databases to obtain information; answering general inquiries from federal, state, and local government representatives; and under the guidance of a more experienced officer, providing support for the arrest of individuals accused of violating immigration law; OR
Education: Successful completion one year of full-time graduate level education at an accredited college or university. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. OR
Superior Academic Achievement: Successful completion of all the requirements for a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and claim eligibility for superior academic achievement based on one of the following:
* Class standing in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses;
* Grade-point average (G.P.A.) -- Applicants must have a grade-point average of:
* 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on their official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or
* 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum.
* Election to membership in a national scholastic honor society recognized by the Association of College Honor Societies. OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of successfully completed graduate education in an appropriate discipline and experience as described above. To meet total qualification requirements for GS-7, first determine the total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required; then determine the education as a percentage of the education required; and then add the two percentages. The total combination must equal at least 100 percent of the requirement.
A college transcript(s) is required if claiming education in lieu of experience and must show your grade point average for your undergraduate study, including all transferred courses. GPAs are rounded to one decimal place. For example, 2.95 will round to 3.0 and 2.94 will round to 2.9.
National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Physical Abilities Assessment: All applicants must pass the PAA prior to graduation from FLETC. The PAA consists of two parts: Criterion Task Test (CTT) and a 1.5 mile run. The CTT consists of a timed obstacle course that involves a vehicle exit, barrier surmount, low crawl, window egress, stair climb, repeat crawl, pre-cuffing position, 175 lbs. dummy drag, repeat barrier surmount, and a sprint. The CTT is then followed by a 1.5 mile run in 14 minutes and 30 seconds or less.
Motor Vehicle Operation: You must possess a valid state driver's license and be able to drive an automobile or light truck. You may also need to obtain and maintain a state commercial driver's license to operate an over-the-road bus capable of transporting 30 or more persons.
Age Restrictions: The date immediately preceding an individual's 40th birthday is the last day to be referred for selection (PL 93-950 and 100-238). However, the age restriction may not apply to individuals who are qualified preference-eligible veterans or who are currently or have previously served in a federal civilian (not military) law enforcement position covered by 5 U.S.C. 8336(c) or 5 U.S.C.§ 8412(d).
Training: Candidates selected will be required to attend and successfully complete the ERO Basic Immigration Law Enforcement Training Program located at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC). DO training is approximately 50 days in duration. Please note, in accordance to ERO Training policy 11158; no one will be permitted to attend more than two ERO Academy training sessions.
NOTE: Employees who do not successfully complete basic immigration law enforcement training and are terminated from training are ineligible to return to the ERO Academy for training, unless selected as a law enforcement officer under a different vacancy announcement. No one will be permitted to attend more than two ERO Academy training sessions.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Conduct complex analysis of multi-source information to identify patterns, threats, vulnerabilities, and emerging risks.
Conduct OSINT monitoring and investigations across mainstream, alternative, and deep web platforms to identify and assess extremist individuals and groups (domestic and international) including known threat actors in the region.
Capture, assess, interpret, corroborate, and distribute intelligence using databases, software platforms, and online portals.

Job Summary:
The Mail Theft and Violent Crimes Investigative Analyst provides task-specific analytical support for volume attack mail theft investigations and related violent crimes investigations in the Inspection Service field division offices. The ISA will augment career staff to provide analytical support for investigations associated with volume attack mail theft, including associated financial crimes and violent crimes. The Mail Theft and Violent Crimes Investigative Analyst duties are separate and distinct from the Mail Theft Triage and Maintenance Support positions. The Mail Theft and Violent Crimes Investigative Analyst will only support non-mail theft related violent crimes when there are extenuating circumstances (ex. Employee homicide).
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Analysis - Review and analyze business and Postal records; trace proceeds of illegal activity; perform personal wealth analysis and related financial transactions; perform phone record analysis; analyze non-USPS government records (ex. DMV records); analyze surveillance video; present findings in reports and presentations in non-technical terminology to various audiences.
Research - Data-mine Postal records and other databases to identify mail theft activity; prepare reports documenting analytical results; disseminate research results to appropriate contact(s) in a timely manner.
Planning and Preparation - Complete assigned tasks to ensure completion within required timeframes to support the criminal or civil investigation, as appropriate; assist Postal Inspectors with developing intelligence for criminal investigations; prepare initial investigative research; compile basic background information to include, but not limited to, researching all pertinent records and other data.
Reporting Responsibilities - Responsible for documenting and reporting analytical results, creating graphic displays and reports that present clear and concise representations of the information analyzed; and disseminating data as required by the assigned task(s)
Minimum Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university AND a minimum of five years experience demonstrating the ability to review financial information, conduct analysis, conduct research, communicate effectively orally and in writing
General knowledge of federal statutes;
Ability to communicate orally and in writing sufficient to express thoughts and ideas to a variety of people;
Proficiency conducting research on the internet and commercial as well as public databases;
Demonstrated significant ability to assist in the analysis of investigative results and present sound recommendations for additional investigative action;
Extensive experience assisting in the development of civil and/or criminal cases for presentation to the appropriate prosecution authority;
Extensive experience performing the appropriate analytical techniques and methods during an investigation;

7. Provide excellent customer service in accordance with LMU established standards and expectations. Provides escort or access service according to policy for occupants if requested.
8. Patrols premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion, failed equipment operation and any safety hazards. Patrols to secure doors, gates and windows during off-hours.
9. Must be able to report for work or work past scheduled shift, to work overtime on short or no notice, to work all shifts, to work rotating shifts, and to work weekends, holidays, closures, special events, and designated days/peak periods.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions (including but not limited to):
Security personnel are trained for several different posts including those detailed below. Working in conjunction with the airport and government agencies, the main priority of each position is to ensure that we maintain compliance with local and federal regulations in respect to each of the following:
Reporting actual or potential breach of Airport Security
Maintain all communication protocols in a professional and efficient manner
Alarm and emergency response including communicating with necessary airport community stakeholders and first responders to ensure timely response to all reported incidents
Maintaining access control to secured areas within the airport

School Security Guards, serving in the capacity of a Safe School Officer (SSO), are responsible for supporting school-sanctioned activities, for purposes of s. 790.115, and aiding in the prevention or abatement of active assailant incidents on school premises. Duties and Responsibilities:
Immediate Threat Response:
The sole responsibility of an SSO is to safeguard lives at their assigned school. SSOs are trained to immediately respond to imminent threats and are expected to engage and stop the threat/stop the loss of lives.
Daily Exterior Check:
Conduct a thorough check of the school's exterior upon arrival, looking for suspicious persons, vehicles, packages, or unattended items. SSO will then be required to submit a daily Risk Assessment Report via the Mobile App which immediately notifies Supervisors and Management
Vigilance:
Remain vigilant at all times, avoiding distractions and maintaining full attention to surroundings and potential threats.
Confidentiality:
Do not volunteer information regarding assignments or tactics to anyone other than law enforcement personnel or other first responders.
Restricted Use of Devices:
Do not use cellular phones, computers, or iPads unless communicating with EGPS Management, Law Enforcement, or School Administrators.
Emergency Protocols:
In case of a family emergency, request a Supervisor to relieve you from your assignment. Never abandon your post without proper coverage.
For non-life-threatening medical emergencies, notify a supervisor and summon emergency medical services if needed by calling 911.
Restroom Use:
Use administrative/staff restrooms if available and do not remove any equipment from your belt or holster.
Professional Appearance:
Maintain a clean, pressed, and stain-free uniform and shoes. Ensure a professional appearance at all times while in uniform and public view.
Arrest Powers:
SSOs are not police officers and do not have arrest powers granted by the State of Florida.
Travel and Concealment:
SSOs can travel to and from home in full uniform without disarming. However, personal business should not be conducted in uniform with a duty belt on unless the firearm is concealed. If an SSO has a concealed firearm license, it is recommended to keep a windbreaker style jacket in your vehicle that can be worn to fully conceal your uniform shirt and firearm in the event of conducting personal business.
Take-Home Vehicle Protocol:
SSOs in full uniform with take-home vehicles may refuel within a 2-mile radius of the job site without concealing or disarming.
Firearm Storage and Licensing:
SSOs without a Concealed Firearm License should secure their duty belt in their vehicle's trunk or a gun box.
SSOs under 21 must disarm to conduct personal business as it is illegal to carry a concealed firearm without appropriate licensure. (It is a Felony of the 3rd degree for aqsany person UNDER 21 years of age to carry a concealed firearm in the State of Florida)
Note: EGPS expects employees to follow all policies and procedures set forth, as well as State Law to avoid any liabilities. Employees who do not have a concealed firearm license are not permitted by FSS790 to carry a concealed firearm. Possession of a Concealed Firearm without a license in the State of Florida is a FELONY of the 3rd Degree.

Notify the county sheriff and the Office of Safe Schools within 72 hours if:
An SSO is dismissed for misconduct or disciplined.
