Gardner-Webb University is seeking a highly motivated and goal-oriented Advancement Officer (AO) to join our dynamic team. As an integral part of the team, the AO will be responsible for managing a portfolio of alumni and university friends with major gift capacity. The AO will engage in significant discovery work to identify and cultivate new prospects, aiming to build a qualified major gift portfolio consisting of 130-150 households over a multi-year period. Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with colleagues within University Advancement (UA) and across campus to ensure fundraising strategies align with university priorities.
* Cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of major gift prospects, including individuals, corporations, and foundations, through face-to-face meetings, written proposals, and other engagement strategies.
* Using CRM system, maintain individualized prospect engagement and solicitation plans based on donor interests and university needs.
* Meet monthly, quarterly, and annual fundraising metrics as defined by the supervisor.
* Serve as a competent and professional representative of Gardner-Webb University.
* Travel, including overnight travel, is required.
* Actively engage in the life of the university through attendance at campus events.
* Undertake additional tasks and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
* Strong understanding of advancement activities in higher education, including knowledge of best practices and emerging trends in fundraising and donor engagement specific to the higher education sector.
* Proven ability to distill and communicate relevant information from large datasets to inform fundraising strategies and decision-making.

Education and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree is required.
* Minimum of three years of experience in development or related roles, preferably in a higher education setting.

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GL-07) performing at least 2 of the 3 duties such as:
* Assisting in investigative responsibilities to include physical surveillance and monitoring protective activities and active criminal investigations;
* Assisting in protective advances to identify critical and vulnerable facilities and sites for visible threats; or
* Providing routine technical advice and guidance regarding protection and law enforcement operations, physical security, crime prevention, force protections and operations security.

Use persuasive communication skills to recover distributor data and overcome obstacles to resolution
Consistent follow-up with Distributors regarding data gaps identified in Trend Analysis reports
Display sense of urgency when dealing with critical and time sensitive EDI failures
Facilitate ongoing weekly phone calls with priority distribution partners to discuss progress, address challenges, and negotiate solutions

The Insider Threat Analyst (ITA) must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in a related field with two (2) years experience working in the Intelligence Community (IC) and US Government Agencies within the national security community. A TS/SCI security level clearance is required for the ITA position. The Counterintelligence Analyst (CA) must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in a related field with two (2) years experience working in the Intelligence Community (IC) and US Government Agencies within the national security community. A TS/SCI security level clearance is required for the CA position. The CA must have working knowledge of counterintelligence and intelligence analysis strategies and techniques, and experience working in an insider threat program is desired. Excellent communications, interpersonal, and analytical skills, and working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications are needed for the CA position.
TRAVEL: Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings, events, site visits, or other training requirements. Travel is coordinated with the technical point of contact and approved in writing by the Contracting Officer in advance, is allowed, in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations. LOCATION: Work shall be conducted at or in proximity to Washington DC Area
