The Boston Children's Hospital Critical Care Transport Team utilizes Emergency Medical Technicians to work collaboratively with the clinical team and the communication center, delivering safe, efficient, family-centered care to patients requiring critical care in transit. The EMT works within their scope of practice, following all team, hospital, and Massachusetts Office of Emergency Medical Services policies and protocols. Starting salary $27/hr Key Responsibilities: Managing transport equipment. Operating the Boston Children's Hospital ambulance. Managing radio critical care transport team telephone requests. Manage Emergency Department referrals (“expects”) from the region. Arranging ambulance discharges from Boston Children's Hospital. Trauma activations. Coordinating the transfer of diagnostic images. SCHEDULE: Full-time, 6:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. +call - 3-12hr shifts Position Summary: The Surgical Technician demonstrates basic knowledge and skills in the scrub role, necessary to provide assistance during surgical procedures. The Surgical Technician is responsible for aseptic technique, setting up the required equipment, instrumentation and sterile supplies as needed for their assigned cases; scrubbing and passing instruments and equipment during surgical procedures; pulling cases as needed, breaking down cases at the end of the procedure, sets up operating room and supplies needed for day/following day's schedule. Available for call on an assigned scheduled basis as required by unit need. When need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
