For clients with co-occurring mental illness, we provide integrated substance use and mental health services which treat both conditions as primary. Our residential facility serves up to 120 women (with capacity for up to 20 children under 5 years of age) seeking recovery from substance use disorders. The SUD Counselor III is an integral part of an interdisciplinary team that supports our clients through assessment of their needs and strengths in support of their health and recovery. SUD Counselor III will perform counseling in individual and group setting, deliver curricula in accordance with program specific requirements and case management, and assist clients in navigating systems of care while providing a supportive treatment environment. NCSH provides a gender-responsive and trauma-informed environment, using evidence-based and best practices that recognize and account for the role that trauma frequently plays in substance use and criminal histories of women. For clients with co-occurring mental illness, we provide integrated substance use and mental health services which treat both conditions as primary. Our residential facility serves up to 120 women (with capacity for up to 20 children under 5 years of age) seeking recovery from substance use disorders. The Group Counselor plays a vital role within a multidisciplinary team, aiding clients by evaluating their requirements and capabilities to promote their well-being and rehabilitation. Minimum qualifications: * One of the following three criteria: * Licensed as a Psychologist, Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, Professional Clinical Counselor or * Possession of a Doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-Accredited doctoral program or * Possession of a terminal master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical/Counseling Psychology, or Social Work (or a related behavioral science field), current registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, Associate Professional Clinical Counselor, or Associate of Social Work, and completion of licensure hours. * Demonstrated commitment to and experience in working with clients from different cultural, racial, and socio-economic backgrounds. * Demonstrated generalist clinical skills including short-term/time-limited, evidence-based individual and group modalities, and crisis intervention. * Demonstrated ability to work as a team member in a stressful environment. * Ability to independently organize, manage, and prioritize tasks, including clinical caseload. * Excellent written and oral communication skills. * Per the California State University's Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California. Preferred qualifications: * If in possession of a doctoral degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology: * A license to practice psychology independently in CA. * If in possession of a terminal master's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Professional Clinical Counselor: * A license to practice independently in CA. * Experience providing clinical services (e.g., individual, group, couple's therapy) to a diverse campus community, including non-traditional college students, or first-generation college students. * Experience providing psycho-educational outreach on various mental health subjects. * Training and/or experience providing clinical services in more than one language. Spanish preferred. * Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate intercultural competence and a commitment to serving a diverse campus community as it relates to counseling and, as applicable, service.
