About the role
We are seeking an experienced, highly-motivated, and business-minded Lead Commercial Counsel on the Legal & Compliance Team. You are a sharp self-starter that is eager to take an ownership role in scaling Rippling's commercial legal function to be best-in‑class, while simultaneously counseling on complex strategic initiatives and getting deals done efficiently and effectively.
This is a highly visible, strategic role requiring both strong leadership and hands‑on execution. You will report to the Associate General Counsel, Corporate, and collaborate closely with leaders across Legal & Compliance, Sales, Business Development, Revenue Operations, Procurement, Product, Real Estate, Finance, and Security.
What you will do
Advise on a variety of commercial matters, including enterprise SaaS agreements, strategic alliances, channel partnerships, customer negotiations, and vendor relationships
Mentor and develop a small commercial team supporting Rippling's global business
Partner with our Sales, Business Development, and other GTM teams to develop, refine, and manage Rippling's commercial counseling and contracting function
Develop and refine enablement tools (e.g. collateral, playbooks, training, templates, negotiation strategies)
Drive consistency, predictability, and scalability across Rippling's global commercial contracting motions
Navigate complex global regulatory frameworks to create scalable and innovative solutions to support our products and services
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams (Privacy, Security, Product, Engineering, and Finance) on development and documentation of new features and services
What you will need
7+ years of commercial contracting experience, including 3+ years in-house experience
Law degree (J.D. or equivalent)
Prior in‑house experience at a high‑growth SaaS or technology company strongly preferred
Deep expertise in technology transactions, including SaaS licensing, data integrations, strategic alliances, procurement and vendor negotiations, and channel and reseller programs, as well as familiarity with AI, privacy, and cybersecurity considerations
Demonstrated ability to lead or mentor attorneys or legal staff
Excellent drafting and communication skills, with the ability to distill complex legal issues into clear, actionable advice
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, rapidly evolving environment, managing a high volume of matters, shifting priorities, and time‑sensitive demands with precision and urgency

The Counseling Center serves all students, including those who are facing personal and educational challenges as well as those who are undecided in their major and/or career. We strive to support these students by promoting a holistic sense of self and wellness by providing personal, educational, and career counseling as well as Human Development courses and workshops. We also support faculty and staff and the overall BC community through consultation and training. These services are interconnected through the overarching lenses of mental health and social justice.

BC Counseling Center's Holistic Approach to Mental Healthcare
At the Bellevue College Counseling Center, mental health and well-being are central to everything the counselors do. This focus is embedded across their workshops, outreach events, and classroom visits, where counselors share information about available services and address topics such as stress management, test anxiety, and other mental health-related concerns. They also engage with students at various campus events by staffing informational tables.
Counselors extend their support into the classroom by teaching Human Development (HD) courses, which emphasize mental health and student success topics such as self-esteem, stress management, learning strategies, personal relationships, motivation, assertiveness, and career exploration. These classes provide a structured and supportive environment for students to explore issues that are often discussed in individual counseling, but in a way that may feel more approachable due to the stigma surrounding one-on-one mental health services.
In addition to working directly with students, counselors consult with faculty and staff to support students who may be experiencing emotional challenges. These consultations help equip college personnel with the psychological insight needed to better assist their students.
The Counseling Center offers a full range of direct services, including individual counseling for personal, academic, career, and crisis-related concerns.
Essential Functions
An internship student at the Counseling Center performs duties and responsibilities under the general direction of the Site Supervisor. The internship student will receive at least one-hour of weekly individual clinical supervision with a licensed mental health counselor and/or licensed psychologist. The internship student also has the opportunity to participate in the Counseling Center's weekly staff meetings and case consultations.
Below are the typical duties of an internship student:
* Provide culturally-competent and socially-just short- and long-term individual (personal, educational, and career) and group counseling.
* Assist students with identifying and resolving problems affecting their educational and personal development by clarifying short- and long-range educational/personal/occupational goals.
* Provide crisis counseling and assessment for students in emotional distress.
* Use culturally responsive therapeutic modalities when working with historically underrepresented student populations.
* Refer students to appropriate campus and community resources and services.
* Support students on academic probation and other student populations by providing appropriate interventions to help them achieve academic success.
* Provide developmental advising practices to help students set educational goals.
* Perform related duties as required.
Other Potential Functions/Job Duties:
Interns may also have the opportunity to do the following:
* Create and deliver outreach activities/events, workshops, and other prevention services to the campus community.
* Possibility of assisting in providing neuroaffirming clinical interviews and psychological assessment.
Minimum Qualifications
* Enrollment in an accredited university in Counseling; Counseling Psychology; Clinical Psychology; Educational Psychology; Educational Counseling; Social Work, or related field.
Applicants enrolled in an accredited university not located within WA State, must:
* Be able to be physically present at the Bellevue College Counseling Center during their internship.
AND
* Check with their individual programs and State licensing boards to ensure that an internship placement with the Bellevue College Counseling Center meets their requirements.
* Completion of at least 3 credits of each of the following or related courses:
* Professional and Ethical Issues in Counseling/Psychotherapy
* Theories of Counseling/Psychotherapy
* Diagnosis and Assessment/Psychopathology
* Counseling Lab/Skills (1 -3 credits)
* Willing to learn to provide culturally responsive personal, academic, and career counseling, especially to individuals with diverse backgrounds.
* Openness to receive and integrate feedback.
* Exceptional interpersonal communication skills and an ability to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse teams and diverse populations.
* Willingness to commit to a 9-12-month experience, with an end date of no earlier than late June, as well as working a minimum of 18 hours per week in-person.
Preferred Qualifications
* Interest in pursuing a career in higher education.
* Experience or familiarity with short-term counseling models (e.g., CBT, ACT, Solution Focused Therapy, etc.)
* Experience working with Black, Latinx, or neurodivergent populations.

JOB DEFINITION:
We are looking for energized and passionate Residential Counselors to manage basic day-to-day operations at our Permanent Supportive Housing Projects. Residential Counselors assist the individuals living in our supportive housing with their daily needs, with special emphasis on challenges related to severe and persistent mental illness and substance use disorders.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interact with residents in the general milieu and common areas.
Assist clinical staff in the coordination of services to residents; contact residents' outside service providers as necessary.
Assist clinical staff in engaging residents through creative, resourceful strategies that build trust and confidence.
Assist clinical staff in the initiation, facilitation and promotion of on-site activities, therapeutic support groups, outings and community meetings.
Manage all building operations in the absence of other project and clinical staff as assigned.
Operate all functions in lobby office, including checking visitors in and out, answering telephones and monitoring security systems.
Maintain safety and security by monitoring all general access areas and enforcing project rules.
Intervene in crises, respond to emergencies, and initiate action as required, including contact with emergency response systems.
Write significant events involving residents and building operations activities in a daily log; read log daily.
Assist with room turnovers, new resident leasing and orientation; rent collection and facilities inspections.
Respond to resident complaints.
Work cooperatively with clinical and maintenance staff sited at the project and with visiting providers; refer residents to clinical and other staff as necessary
Initiate appropriate response to maintenance requests.
Participate in staff meetings and trainings.
Assist with other property management functions as assigned.

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Basic understanding of homelessness and various characteristics of homeless adult population.
Ability to communicate and work effectively with staff from various backgrounds.
Ability to work effectively with clients displaying a wide range of unpleasant and/or bizarre behaviors.
Subscription to philosophy of cooperation and continuity across programs and of consideration and respect for clients.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
BA degree in social or behavioral science.
Residential property management experience.
Experience with the challenges of mental illness and substance use.
Current Washington State Driver's License, insurable driving record, ability to drive agency van and transport tenants.

JOB DEFINITION:
We are looking for energized and passionate Residential Counselors to manage basic day-to-day operations at our Permanent Supportive Housing Projects. Residential Counselors assist the individuals living in our supportive housing with their daily needs, with special emphasis on challenges related to severe and persistent mental illness and substance use disorders.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interact with residents in the general milieu and common areas.
Assist clinical staff in the coordination of services to residents; contact residents' outside service providers as necessary.
Assist clinical staff in engaging residents through creative, resourceful strategies that build trust and confidence.
Assist clinical staff in the initiation, facilitation and promotion of on-site activities, therapeutic support groups, outings and community meetings.
Manage all building operations in the absence of other project and clinical staff as assigned.
Operate all functions in lobby office, including checking visitors in and out, answering telephones and monitoring security systems.
Maintain safety and security by monitoring all general access areas and enforcing project rules.
Intervene in crises, respond to emergencies, and initiate action as required, including contact with emergency response systems.
Write significant events involving residents and building operations activities in a daily log; read log daily.
Assist with room turnovers, new resident leasing and orientation; rent collection and facilities inspections.
Respond to resident complaints.
Work cooperatively with clinical and maintenance staff sited at the project and with visiting providers; refer residents to clinical and other staff as necessary
Initiate appropriate response to maintenance requests.
Participate in staff meetings and trainings.
Assist with other property management functions as assigned.
Other duties as assigned.
