Job Summary
Develop, coordinate and implement the delivery of developmentally appropriate play activities, expressive arts, and special events for pediatric patients and their families within the health care setting, both at the bedside and in playroom settings. Serves as the child's advocate when collaborating with the healthcare team to determine suitable therapeutic interventions. Utilizes expert knowledge of child development, family systems theories, and the developmental effects of stress and trauma on children to establish appropriate interventions to alleviate distress. Promotes family-centered care and facilitates the strengthening of positive coping and resiliency skills within the healthcare setting. Provides ongoing assessment of interventions used. Provides oversight and direction for utilization of volunteers in Child Life department. Possesses expert knowledge of medical diagnosis and procedures. Understands special needs of children with chronic or disabling conditions, with expertise in the use of play activities in a health care environment and in-depth knowledge of research regarding children in health care settings.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Child Life, Child Development, Human Development, or related field required. Completion of Child Life internship required.
Minimum two years experience working with various age groups of children is preferred. Experience working with pediatric population in a therapeutic setting desired.
Certification as a Child Life Specialist (CCLS) is required or must be obtained within one year of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months of hire.

BCBA Clinician Job Description:
The BCBA Clinician practices under the close, ongoing supervision of the Department Director and is responsible for the program development of skill-acquisition and behavior reduction plans, as well as the ongoing progress reports of their assigned clients and staff. The BCBA Clinician is also responsible for supervising the ongoing performance of the department clinicians (BACB Trainees, and BCaBAs) and RBTs. The BCBA Clinician is responsible for implementing and overseeing the implementation of their client's programs across all caregivers including direct line therapists (RBTs). The BCBA Clinician provides assistance to children, families, and team members by providing an appropriate, safe learning environment to clients enrolled in the program.
Job Duties
Attend and resolve daily parent, staff, and client concerns under close supervision of the Department Director
Conduct intake assessments and generate reports.
Develop goals that are objective, measurable, and provide clear planning toward discharge and generate discharge/transition reports
Develop implement, collect data, and monitor progress on individualized treatment plans.
Create behavior programming to support the development of appropriate behavior while reducing inappropriate behavior.
Provide direct ABA therapy to children with Autism and related development disabilities across the clinic, home, community
Provide supervision of RBTs across clinic, home, community, and school settings.
Conduct ongoing assessment when necessary, including but not limited to the following: PEAK, VB-MAPP, Functional Analyses, ABLLS, AFLS, preference assessments, etc.
Consult with colleagues, collaborate/consult with other professionals, and work as a team member both internally and with other providers or caregivers (e.g., day care, medical professionals, SLP, OT, etc.).
Maintain clinical paperwork (e.g., required forms, releases, reports, etc.), data, and engage in accurate and complete documentation of hours and activities.
Ensures programming is occurring according to schedule. Fills in gaps and/or provides support on callouts and other low-level management issues.
Assist in the training and development of RBT, BACB Trainee and BCaBA staff.
Coordinate continuity of care across all providers working with clients assigned to caseload.
Track and Enforce Client cancellation policy (escalate to Department Director as necessary).

A Brief Overview
Provides evaluation and treatment for individuals of all ages who are suffering from an acute mental health crisis through telephonic, face to face, or interactive video communication. Ability to work in an intense, stressful work environment where you must perform rapid assessments, make swift treatment decisions and have the ability to multi task. What you will do
Answers all inquiry calls in a timely fashion, offer and schedule assessments, complete the database and keep all information up to date. As the point of contact for all of BHC services, provides excellent customer service to all callers.
Completes the psychosocial assessment including suicide/homicide risk assessment, determine appropriate level of care and make appropriate referrals.
Manages the Behavioral Health Center emergency room by visiting with walk in patients, providing a medical screen, meeting all the EMTALA guidelines.
Assists the emergency room physicians, including E- assessment through the E-emergency program.
Works with law enforcement to petition or place Board of Mental Illness holds when needed, and with security regarding transports and Crisis Prevention Intervention when needed.
Provides crisis intervention and case management for local mental health clinics, medical clinics and psychiatry clinics. Provide EAP assessment and counseling including phone intervention. Manages the psychiatric inpatient beds through a system wide tracking board, manage the physician rotation assignments and on call schedules. Maintains current knowledge of admitting modules and the ability to register Clinical ARC patients and Pre-admitted patients, in a timely fashion.
Provides ongoing training/orientation for all students including psychiatric residents, nurses, counseling interns and paramedics. Provides mental health support services in the community and promote mental health services available through Avera Behavioral Health.
Obtains and completes all insurance pre-certifications and authorizations as determine necessity for pre-certification; coordinates with insurance companies, patients and clinical staff to obtain information; and maintains complete and accurate documentation. Must have proficient knowledge of insurance requirements, medical/clinical terminology, psychotropic medications, and medical necessity associated with certification.
Must maintain an updated working knowledge of the following: SD, Minnesota and Tribal Mental Illness Holds; Duty to Warn and Abuse reporting standards; Informed consent and competence to make treatment decisions; referral sources in a 4 state region; level of care criteria and pre-authorization requirements and processes; ASAM criteria; DSM criteria; ICD9 codes along with de-certification process and appropriate admission service types.

A Brief Overview
Provides evaluation and treatment for individuals of all ages who are suffering from an acute mental health crisis through telephonic, face to face, or interactive video communication. Ability to work in an intense, stressful work environment where you must perform rapid assessments, make swift treatment decisions and have the ability to multi task. Applies specialized clinical knowledge and advanced clinical skills in the areas of assessment, diagnosis, and crisis intervention of mental, emotional and behavioral disorders, conditions and addictions, including severe mental illness in adults and seniors, severe emotional disturbances in children and adolescents, and acutely intoxicated or withdrawing individuals. Helps facilitate referral or placement to appropriate level of care or other resource.
What you will do
* Answers all inquiry calls in a timely fashion, offer and schedule assessments, complete the database and keep all information up to date. As the point of contact for all of BHC services, provides excellent customer service to all callers.
* Completes the psychosocial assessment including suicide/homicide risk assessment, determine appropriate level of care and make appropriate referrals.
* Manages the Behavioral Health Center emergency room by visiting with walk in patients, providing a medical screen, meeting all the EMTALA guidelines.
* Assists the emergency room physicians, including E- assessment through the E-emergency program.
* Works with law enforcement to petition or place Board of Mental Illness holds when needed, and with security regarding transports and Crisis Prevention Intervention when needed.
* Provides crisis intervention and case management for local mental health clinics, medical clinics and psychiatry clinics. Provide EAP assessment and counseling including phone intervention. Manages the psychiatric inpatient beds through a system wide tracking board, manage the physician rotation assignments and on call schedules. Maintains current knowledge of admitting modules and the ability to register Clinical ARC patients and Pre-admitted patients, in a timely fashion.
* Provides ongoing training/orientation for all students including psychiatric residents, nurses, counseling interns and paramedics. Provides mental health support services in the community and promote mental health services available through Avera Behavioral Health.
* Obtains and completes all insurance pre-certifications and authorizations as determine necessity for pre-certification; coordinates with insurance companies, patients and clinical staff to obtain information; and maintains complete and accurate documentation. Must have proficient knowledge of insurance requirements, medical/clinical terminology, psychotropic medications, and medical necessity associated with certification.
* Must maintain an updated working knowledge of the following: SD, Minnesota and Tribal Mental Illness Holds; Duty to Warn and Abuse reporting standards; Informed consent and competence to make treatment decisions; referral sources in a 4 state region; level of care criteria and pre-authorization requirements and processes; ASAM criteria; DSM criteria; ICD9 codes along with de-certification process and appropriate admission service types.

SHIFTS AND HOURS
We have a full-time night position available. (8:00 am to 4:30 pm)
Keystone Treatment Center is a 126 Bed Treatment Center providing services to adults on an inpatient basis. Keystone is located in Canton SD, just a short drive from Sioux Falls, SD.
You will be working with the Clinical team in providing therapeutic care to our patients.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Conduct individual counseling sessions and group or family sessions, under supervision, as scheduled and document as required.
May co-facilitate assigned group or family sessions and assist with modifying problem behaviors.
May be responsible for initial assessments, as well as follow up assessment for patients.
Prepare individual treatment plan for each assigned patient.
Ensure all documentation regarding patient care, treatment and incidents are completed timely and in a clear concise manner.
Assist with modifying problem behaviors and may also provide counseling services to families of patients.
Act as a liaison between referral sources and patient.
Provide crisis intervention to patient, as needed.
May plan for aftercare for assigned patient.
May act as a liaison with insurance carriers, as requested.
May provide case management duties for patient, ensuring individualized quality care.
Evaluate the needs of the patient and determine if referrals to other programs or facilities is needed.
Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always. When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.

Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in social or health services field from an accredited college or university preferred. Two or more years' experience in counseling field is required;
OR Bachelor's degree in other field required and;
Four or more years' experience in the counseling field;
OR Master's degree in social or health services field required and
one or more years' professional work experience.
LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:
Licensure or certification for counseling may be required by the state in which the facility operates.
CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
First aid may be required based on state or facility.
