Our counseling team provides compassionate, high-quality counseling and therapy to patients that are seeking recovery from Opioid Use Disorder.
Your Job as a Substance Use Counselor:
The Substance Use Counselor is instrumental in our patient's treatment and recovery from opioid use disorder. Substance Use Counselors provide high quality, compassionate care through various mediums which include both individual and group counseling sessions.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide high quality, compassionate guidance in both individual and group counseling sessions.
Plan, oversee, facilitate and document patient's recovery.
Co-facilitate assigned group or family sessions as needed.
Ensure all documentation regarding patient care, treatment, and incidents is completed timely and in a clear, concise manner.
Prepare individual treatment plans for each assigned patient.
Initial assessments as well as follow up assessments.
Evaluate patient needs and determine if referrals to other programs or facilities are needed.
May plan for aftercare for assigned patients.
Provide crisis intervention to patients, as needed.
Provide case management duties for patients, ensuring individualized quality care as needed.
Act as a liaison between referral sources and patients, as needed.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in social or health services field is required;
Degree must be from an accredited college or university.
Previous experience in addiction recovery or behavioral health settings, such as outpatient, residential, or correctional facilities.
* Familiarity with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), including methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone.
* Experience conducting individual and group counseling sessions focused on substance use recovery.
* Knowledge of evidence-based practices, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and relapse prevention techniques.
* Documentation experience, including maintaining clinical notes, treatment plans, and progress updates in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
* Familiarity with state regulatory standards (e.g., 42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA, Joint Commission standards).
* Experience collaborating in a multidisciplinary team with medical staff, case managers, and peer support specialists.
Required Licenses/Certifications:
* CADC, CADC-I, CADC-S, LADC, or LADC-S is required

success of high school exchange. Representatives work at the local level

This is a volunteer position although you will receive a stipend to offset the costs of recruiting host families and working with students. Representatives receive between $700 and $1050 per student successfully placed. We also offer many bonuses and incentives. On average it takes about 3 hours a month for each student you place. Most of our reps work full time jobs or are students and do this on the side.

Nevada State University invites applications for the position of Student Worker - Student Life Activities Board Leader. The student worker will support the Student Life Activities Board which is a student-driven organization dedicated to creating, planning, and executing campus-wide events to encourage a vibrant campus culture at Nevada State. The Student Life Activities Board provides opportunities for students to develop leadership and event-planning skills as well as a way for students to become more connected to the campus community.

Core Responsibilities:
* Help students feel welcome and connected to the Nevada State University community by planning large-scale and small-scale events and programming through the Office of Student life.
* Track and manage an annual budget for the Student Life Activities Board.
* Provide excellent communication and costumer service to any students or vendors inquiring about programs.
* Meet one-on-one with Student Life Activities Board Advisor for check ins and professional development.
* Maintain accurate records of receipts, invoices, and any purchase orders made for the year.
* Provide a monthly report to the Nevada State Student Alliance on expenditures and event attendance.
* Support in the creation of promotional items and marketing of all student life activities.
* Help create post-attendance surveys to gather information and data to better provide a campus life experience at Nevada State.
* Provide input on events effectiveness and suggest improvements based on mentee interactions and outcomes.
* Work effectively with other Student Life and NSSA student workers, staff, and campus partners to ensure coordinated support for students.
* Support Nevada State large scale events (Etc. Convocation, commencement and other events).
Minimum Qualifications:
* Must be in good academic standing and maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
* Must be enrolled as a degree seeking student with a minimum of 6 credits in the current or upcoming semester at Nevada State.
* Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (Nevada State does not sponsor employment-related visas).
* Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
* Be creative and demonstrate personal initiative.
* Willingness to create an engaging and robust campus life.
* Flexible and open schedule availability for events/programs.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Previous experience working on campus.
* Previous experience in a customer service-driven position.
* Familiarity with BeEngaged.nevadastate.edu and how to maximize its value as an end-user.
* Experience using Canva or other platforms for creating promotional items.
Work Hours:
This position will work 19.5 hours per week.
Scheduled hours may be outside of the Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm office hours due to events/programs.
Hourly Rate:
$12.00 per hour.
