    Job Responsibilities: The Lead Youth Treatment Specialist provides two essential roles within the Youth Crisis Stabilization Program. The first role is being responsible for direct care, nurturing and supervision of the residents. This includes providing supervision of the youth placed in the program. Essential Functions: Youth Treatment Specialist Duties: Serve as a treatment specialist in the milieu supporting therapeutic interactions by coaching skill use throughout activities, modeling appropriate behavior, teaching, and reinforcing use and generalization of skills through a token economy system. Use evidence based best practices for youth with mental health, substance use and life needs. This includes Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma informed care, motivational interviewing, youth centered and culturally reverent approaches while celebrating youth's development and identity. Use motivation and engagement strategies to encourage youth involved in systems such as court services and Department of Children and Families to participate in treatment programming and involvement in program activities. Always provide active sight and sound supervision to youth and families with complex needs. The Intensive In-Home Services (IIHS) Program provides therapeutic and parenting services to families involved in, or at risk of, becoming involved in the formal social services system for abuse, neglect, truancy, and/or delinquency issues. IIHS strives to preserve the family, reduce out-of-home placements, and aid in reunification where necessary. Our collaborated team of Parent Mentors, Therapists, Youth Support Specialists, and Substance Abuse Counselors work together to provide a wide range of intensive services. As the Substance Abuse Counselor, it will be your responsibility to conduct substance use assessments and provide treatment services as needed. Services may be delivered in individual, family, or group settings. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SUBSTANCE ABUSE COUNSELOR: Interview and evaluate families to complete the intake process. Assess the therapeutic needs of clients and complete formal assessments. Formulate, implement, evaluate and review client treatment plans. Counsel clients in accordance with their treatment plans. Demonstrate knowledge and skill in addressing alcohol/drug issues through individual, family, and group counseling. Organize and facilitate structured group, individual and/or family activities. Coordinate services and maintain communication with all service providers involved with the clients. Exercise judgment to intervene as an advocate for clients in emergency and crisis situations. Safely transport clients as needed. LOCATION: Office is located in Kenosha, WI. Local travel is required (with mileage reimbursement) to meet clients and families within the home. This position also provides the client linkage and follow-up to community resources. RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Crisis intervention for Kenosha County: a. Respond in timely manner to caller; prioritize calls as necessary b. Determine need for phone or on-site intervention and respond accordingly c. Perform assessment and ascertain elements of crisis and degree of danger/urgency involved; obtain assistance as needed and facilitate outcome d. Defuse immediate crisis reactions; collaborate with involved parties to develop safety plan, advocate as needed and facilitate outcome e.
