TITLE: Electric Technician A The Electrical Technician is responsible for electrical, electronics, and maintenance of all equipment. Performs other duties as needed. QUALIFICATIONS: Industrial maintenance degree or similar from a state certified technical school or community college is required. Completion of a 4-year electrical apprenticeship can be substituted
Must have knowledge of basic industrial electrical components - relays, timers, contactors, proximity switches, etc.
Must be able to read multimeters and amp meters.
A background in industrial electronics and troubleshooting is required
Experience with PLC controls and variable speed drives is preferred
Basic computer knowledge
Must have good communication skills
Experience with PLC controls and variable speed drives is preferred
Must be able and willing to work overtime, weekends and evenings as needed. Also must be able to work on-call as needed
Must be able to read electrical schematics
The ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings is a plus
Can work with limited supervision (ie. night shift)
Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary
Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
All skills, knowledge and job duties of Electrical Technician B.
Troubleshoot and repair A/C, D/C motors, drives and inverters.
Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems.
Troubleshoot and repair fire panels and alarm systems.
Correctly identify and work on any electrical cabinet in the plant.
Identify and safely work on any switchgear in the plant.
Replace non-programmable devices such as relays, contactors, timers, PLC i/o cards.
Use soldering for repairs as needed
Check and change motor rotation if needed.
Replace plant lighting and ballasts.
Check and replace fuses.
Troubleshoot electrical circuits.
Assists Maintenance technician in the lubrication and repair of mechanical equipment
Maintain all equipment in good running order
Ensure that job site is clean and free of hazards
Maintains good housekeeping and safety practices when running equipment
Interacts and communicates with Production supervisor during shift and assist on production line when needed
Maintains professional certifications and keeps updated on all procedures and policy changes; keeps training up to date
Operates all maintenance equipment safely, follows LOTO procedures at all times.

Perform preventive maintenance inspections and service on equipment
Repair broken machines and equipment quickly and efficiently
Identify causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines
Record and report damaged, worn, or broken parts
Order and install replacement parts for machines

Responsibilities:
Support and adhere to all plant safety policies and procedures at all times, as well as promoting a safety culture and awareness within their area.
Ensures all quality and food safety practices are followed at all times in support of BRC (British Retail Consortium)
Assist other Technicians in the repair and maintenance of printing presses, finishing equipment, and support equipment in a safe manner.
Perform all maintenance activities such as predictive and preventative maintenance, work orders and improvement projects via the CMMS system.
Coordinate and perform all maintenance activities (PM, work orders, improvement projects, etc.) to effectively balance maintenance and production needs.
Provide a timely, practical, and professional response to work orders, including the ability to communicate with press operators to understand and diagnose equipment issues.
Root cause analysis to troubleshoot and eliminate primary causes of downtime, etc. to improve OEE (overall equipment effectiveness).
Maintain good housekeeping in the work areas and maintenance areas.
Coach machine operators in a positive manner on the proper way to operate equipment.
Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
3-5 years of demonstrated experience in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic applications. HVAC experience with process chillers is a plus.
Knowledge of AC/DC variable frequency drives (VFD's), servo motors, and controls wiring.
Ability to read electrical and pneumatic schematics
Ability to use test equipment (multi-meter, laptop, micrometers, calipers, infrared guns, etc.) to aid in troubleshooting equipment problems.
Can troubleshoot PLC's and their inputs/outputs. Programming of PLC's is not required
General skills relating to the use of shop equipment such as drill presses, power tools, mills, and lathes.
Proficiency with computers, such as email, internet, and MS Office applications. Prior CMMS experience necessary.
Requires physical ability to climb stairs, bend, sit, stand, walk, reach with arms, push, pull and use hands and fingers to feel and handle material for extended time frames.
Must have ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds repeatedly and regularly. Includes the ability to stoop, squat, crawl and kneel as needed.
Must be well-organized and have the ability to prioritize tasks.
Must have strong problem solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with team members and supervisors.

Troubleshoot sources of equipment problems through observation and use of precision measuring and testing instruments.

Troubleshoot and repair Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's) and associated control systems.
Follow blueprints, schematics, operation manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Two-year technical degree in an appropriate background is preferred.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Knowledgeable in industrial maintenance of facilities and equipment.
Minimum of 1 year of work experience repairing industrial processing equipment in a production environment required. Applicable military experience will be considered.

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for planning the maintenance and repair of project facilities and equipment. This position schedules the work to be accomplished daily, weekly and during planned outages, determines the required parts, equipment, and human resources to complete this work. Communicate with vendors and contractors regarding order status, delivery times and availability
Process returns of defective parts, arranging replacements and ensuring company receives a credit for all returned parts
Shop best price and availability of parts from a variety of vendors
Find ways to source parts that may be proprietary to certain manufactures
Maintain daily PO spreadsheet
Process invoices for payment, issue PO numbers through Radius Program and work with accounts payable to resolve any vendor issues
Keep management updated on lead times and any supply chain issues
Maintain the parts storage area to insure it is well organized and parts removed from inventory are re-ordered
Maintain maintenance daily MDI board by updating KPI's
Maintain filing in the maintenance department
Schedule Preventive Maintenance Contractors for Chiller, HVAC, Air Compressor, Fire System, etc.

Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED required
Experience using computers for data entry, record keeping, etc. required
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite required
