This role is responsible for accurately fulfilling pouches, retail packages, and shipping cartons while maintaining quality and efficiency. Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods throughout the shift. Prior warehouse, packaging, or manufacturing experience is a plus, but not required. Assure a quality product is efficiently produced and packed in a safe and proper manner to ensure on-time delivery to the customer. This position covers tending, packing, and utility. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Respond to /and operate machines Identify serious problems for maintenance Assemble and pack boxes with light-weight packaging components consisting of lids and tubs Place boxes of finished goods on skids approximately 24 times per hour On occasion (up to approximately 6 times per hour) lift cases weighing up to 30lbs. to a height of 6 ft. to put on skids Push boxes into case sealer Deliver materials to machines (inserts, film, color, resin, etc.) Inspect product as per quality standards and pack boxes Apply proper labels and identification codes to boxes of product Complete traceability forms and record production data, enter data into computer, verify that correct labels are applied to boxes and production information is correct. Perform online quality checks Maintain a clean and organized work area Perform c/o in a timely manner following procedures and work instructions. Tend 3 lines at a time and/or pack 2 lines at a time and/or run as a utility (filling and pulling boxes, pulling skids to the staging area, filling materials for packer on the lines, and break relieve packers) supply the production lines based on your shift-assigned duties. Follow procedures and guidelines as defined by the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and the Master Cleaning Schedule Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Ability to effectively function in a broad-based, fast-paced work environment with minimal supervision. The ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English is a requirement. Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently. SCOPE: The Packer works with the finished product. Packer ensures that all finished product conforms to the highest quality standard, is packaged per the manufacturing specification, and is palletized in the proper manner. Replenishes packaging supplies such as wrapping paper, plastic sheet, boxes, cartons, glue, ink, or labels. Mounts supplies on spindles or places supplies in hopper or other feeding devices. Positions and holds container in the machine and depresses pedal, presses the button, or moves the lever to clean, glue, label, sew, or staple container. Start of production follows steps in BT (line clearance and opens line.) Makes sure Lot number is printing correctly on the material. Assist packers in labeling boxes if necessary. Motivate workers to enhance production quantity and at the same time maintain high production standards. Should shadow and learn from a Packer II Assembly/disassembly of tape (Combi) machines Must be able to fill in for an absent Water Spider or Packer II Qualifications: Less than high school education; or up to six months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. SUMMARY: The Packer is responsible for packing finished printed materials to meet customer specifications, ensuring quality standards are upheld, and supporting the smooth flow of work in the cutting department. This position plays a critical role in the final stage of production by preparing completed jobs for shipment or delivery, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring all materials are handled safely and efficiently. Schedule: 2nd Shift, Monday-Friday, eight or more hours per day, five days per week based on business needs. Primary schedule will be 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM, or similar. This is an in-person position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Work in collaboration with main Cutter Operator for provided instructions which will indicate specifications of form/batch cuts Identify quantity of form and type of stock to secure correct boxes for packing of product Off-load product from cutter tables and ensure order sticker label is eligible and visible for delivery Conduct initial inspection of products to ensure quality control To ensure compliance of orders, track inventory by physically counting product orders by order number Accurately and safely box completed jobs and notify quality control teammate/supervisor when completed boxes are ready for inspection Ensure materials on hand are organized and replenished To include boxes (to be made and kept on hand at inventory standard), tape guns, filling, chipboard dividers, markers, others as needed Place boxes in appropriate and safe floor locations under/near packing table Maintain bins, when full relocate to back lot for recycling and replace with empty bin Ensure set up is complete for shift change Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc. Regularly perform general housekeeping duties in your work area(s) Adhere to all safety policies and protocols and maintain a safe working environment Attend all department/company meetings Other duties as assigned For an extensive list of responsibilities, duties and physical demands/work environment please refer to the attached Job Description. EDUCATION, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR EXPERIENCES: High School Diploma or GED equivalency, preferred; or one to three months related experience in a manufacturing environment and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS: Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Strong problem-solving skills when faced with unexpected challenges, such as machine malfunctions, material shortages, or errors in print quality. Time Management & Efficiency: Ability to manage multiple print jobs simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met without sacrificing quality. Organizing workflows, preparing materials in advance, and optimizing print runs for efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Attention to Detail: Precision in monitoring print jobs to ensure all details, such as color accuracy, image sharpness, and print placement, meet the required standards. Detecting small defects or inconsistencies during production and taking corrective action immediately. Communication Skills: Ability to read and understand corporate policies, job-related documents, and written/verbal instructions in English to ensure effective and compliant job performance. Strong foundational math skills, with the ability to perform basic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
