As a child behavior specialist, you will be responsible for support and implementation of an individualized plan based on the client's targets and goals with a focus on decreasing unsafe behaviors while increasing communication and social skills while receiving support from a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. You will observe client skills and collect data to be used in assessing the individual's skills and to develop their program goals. You will work with children, adolescents, and young adults with autism, intellectual disabilities, or other developmental disabilities in our center based program that promote language, behavioral, social, and daily living skills.
Education and Experience Required: The selected candidate will have at least a high school diploma and previous experience working with children. Must possess a current registered behavior technician credential in good standing; or complete a 40-hour class, competency assessment, and exam to become a registered behavior technician within 6 months of hire (IH provides training compensation during this time). Bachelor's degree in Behavioral science is preferred; specific experience with children who have Autism, intellectual or developmental disabilities, or ABA experience, is a plus! Must have afternoon availability until 6 P.M.

Treatment Foster Parents Intercept Health is a licensed provider of Treatment Foster Care (TFC) in Virginia, partnering with individuals and families to serve as Treatment Foster Parents for the over 5,000 children in Virginia's foster care system. Interested in learning how you can become a foster parent? Or maybe you just want to learn how you can help more?
To qualify as a treatment foster parent you must be:
* At least 21 years old and live in Virginia
* Married or single (not cohabitating)
* Physically (able to pass a physical exam) and emotionally stable
* Financially stable without the use of State assistance
* Able to provide space in your home to accommodate a foster child
* Willing to work as a member of the TFC team
* Able to help a child cope with separation, loss, and grief
* Able to nurture a child's safe connection with biological family and return home goals
* Willing to help the child preserve relationships as well as build new ones
* Able and willing to comply with licensing standards for foster family homes
* Able to pass a background check
* Able to provide a valid driver's license and have an insured vehicle

* At least 21 years old and live in Virginia

Services may be provided through Tele Services as well as through face-to-face direct contact.
Education and Experience: Must be CSAC-A Eligible or CSAC-A who is certified by the Virginia Board of Counseling to practice in accordance with the provisions of the Code of Virginia. Must have high school diploma or GED.
Must also have knowledge of substance abuse treatment and recovery, either through education or lived experience. Ability to work within the community providing supports to connect individuals to services and resources to assist with overall health and wellbeing. A general knowledge of the disease model of addiction, community resources and treatment options, either through education or lived experiences.
