A little taste of your day-to-day:
Every day is different, but you'll mostly be:
● Sorting laundry by colour, material, and level of soiling
● Inspecting all laundry and linen for damage or stains - keeping a record of any items that don't make the grade
● Operating washers and dryers to their recommended capacity and manufacturer guidelines
● Adding the correct chemicals in the right quantities for each wash cycle
● Folding and storing clean linen - operating the linen feeder, sheet folder, towel folder and table linen ironing machines
What We need from you:
● It's a physical role and you'll be on your feet most of the day, so fitness is important
● Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 75 pounds and pushing and/or pulling approximately 400 pounds
● You may need to bend, stoop, and kneel to complete some activities
● Frequently working in areas of high temperatures around heavy equipment
● Reading and writing abilities and basic math skills are utilized when determining amounts of chemicals to treat laundry and stains and logging appropriate poundage.

FINANCIAL RETURNS

* May review and verify accounts payable input and output, accounts receivable posting and billing, and maintain the daily income report, ensuring all necessary schedules are completed in a timely manner.

The Banquets Team at the Hilton Columbus Downtown is currently seeking a Banquets Manager (Full Time) to work at our award-winning property. What will I be doing?
As a Banquet Manager, you would be responsible for managing the daily execution of all banquet functions in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.
Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
* Manage daily Banquet functions to include, but not limited to, planning, organizing and executing breakfasts, coffee breaks, luncheons, dinners, cocktail receptions, galas, etc.
* Oversee the setup of function rooms to include, but not limited to, the placement of linens, silver, glassware and chinaware according to event specifications and a full inspection
* Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision, scheduling, conducting counselling and evaluations and delivering recognition and reward
* Recruit, interview and train team members
* Communicate function specifications, procedures and changes with affected departments including, but not limited to, the Food and Beverage, Event Services, Property Operations, Audio Visual and Housekeeping
* Oversee the breakdown of the function room and ensure proper storage of equipment
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards
