Summary
InterDigital is currently seeking a detail-oriented Global Payroll Manager to join our Finance team based out of our Conshohocken, PA office. This person will be responsible for managing the payroll team and vendor partners, who together prepare and process our global payrolls for approximately 500 employees. Job Responsibilities
Manage the Global Payroll team who are responsible for payroll processing for approximately 500 employees across 7 countries globally.
Provide direction to the payroll organization with a focus on driving process efficiencies.
Develop, train and coach direct reports within the payroll team.
Partner with HR, IS and GL Accounting departments to ensure payroll accuracy, optimal automation/integration between Workday and all ancillary service providers, and timely and accurate accounting for payroll.
Ensure earnings, deductions, taxes and benefits are set up correctly and that fundings are completed timely and accurately. Perform and document quarterly audits to reconcile payments.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements.
Work directly with payroll providers or the governmental taxing authority in response to tax notices to ensure accounts are always in good standing.
Ensure compliance with and continued updating of payroll process for SOX purposes and respond to audit inquiries regarding payroll-related matters.
Ensure long- and short-term employee incentive program payments and other equity grant releases and exercises are recorded correctly, especially as they pertain to employee/employer taxes.
Oversee the year-end process to ensure tax forms are distributed timely and accurately. Ensure that employee tax records are reviewed on a quarterly basis to prevent the need to amend tax forms.
Perform audits of payroll to ensure accuracy of payroll and identify areas for process improvements.
Manage vendor relationship with payroll partners, including ADP and global payroll partners, to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll.
Qualifications
8 to 10 years of payroll experience, including international/global payroll experience, including experience managing a team of payroll administrators
Advanced-level knowledge of ADP/Workforce Now and Workday HCM
Multi-state payroll experience
Excellent Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, vlook-ups, etc.)
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet critical payroll deadlines

The Wireless Research group drives next-generation innovation within InterDigital's Research & Innovation (R&I) organization. The Fab Maintenance Team is looking for a new member who can hit the ground running and immediately contribute. You must be able to work in a high-pace 12 hour shift environment where equipment uptime is critical. Being able to diagnose and solve problems quickly is key to your success. Making lasting repairs based on true root cause fixes will support OSD in delivering high quality Fiber Optic components to its customers.

The Fab Maintenance Team is responsible for the uptime of all equipment used in the manufacturing of III/V optical semiconductors. Our work enables Operations/Engineering to reach the Production/Development goals by having well-performing machines to run. We work very closely with the Engineering Teams - both Process and Hardware - in order to troubleshoot tough problems as well as prepare equipment to meet the demands of new processes.

**Your Responsibilities:**
Your primary responsibility is to keep the Production equipment up and running. Doing so involves the following key tasks:
+ Communication with Operators, Technicians, Supervisors, and Engineers to stay current on priorities to minimizing equipment downtime and production interruptions.
+ Monitoring Emaint our E-tool which tracks equipment status as well as planning ahead for scheduled downs to limit the impact of PM's on uptime
+ Interpreting SPC charts, historical data, and other control charts in order to determine root cause
+ Performing mechanical assembly, helium leak detection for high vacuum applications, understanding and troubleshooting RF circuitry, working knowledge of PLC platforms, and electrical troubleshooting.
+ Experience in maintaining and troubleshooting PECVD, MOCVD, RIE, ICP, Implant, Photolithography, Sputtering, Ebeam Evaporators, and Holography Equipment.
+ Documenting any and all work done in EMaint and other software platforms.
+ Active member on the HAZMAT and **M** edical **E** mergency **R** esponse **T** eams.
+ Certified to use **S** elf **C** ontained **B** reathing **A** pparatus.
+ Able to direct and advise other maintenance technicians in completion of their daily tasks.
+ Ability to lift at least 50 pounds regularly

The annual base salary range for this position is $106,900 - $171,000
This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.

The Wireless Research group within InterDigital's Research and Innovation (R&I) organization is responsible for leading InterDigital's North American next generation wireless research projects. Our charter is to identify future technology needs, develop and learn from proof-of-concept prototypes, and innovate around a system focus. Today this team is at the leading edge of 6G research. One of our current research themes focuses on Information Value-Native and Reasoning-Based Semantic Wireless Systems, with a vision for future artificial general intelligence native networks.
The evolution of communication services beyond connectivity-only based service opens up opportunity to redesign the communication system for dynamic fine-grain adjustment of QoS treatment and provide per-packet treatment leveraging advanced AI/ML capabilities. The goal of this research project is to develop the scientific foundations for: a) information-value metrics that include attributes beyond connectivity and their integration into the evaluation of user experience, b) design of new communication, artificial intelligence (AI), and computing architectures that are tailored towards delivering target QoE while factoring in the information value and reasoning-based semantic, and 3) development of novel protocols that can enable information value-centric operation of wireless systems.
We are seeking a highly motivated wireless engineering intern to work on this project and help design, simulate, and prototype novel solutions, in which intelligent networks self-optimize to deliver services to users and devices that are tailored to content, context, connectivity, and beyond connectivity services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Carry out cutting-edge research in radio interface design including physical layer, radio interface architecture and L2-4 protocols for next generation mobile communications systems
Research, analyze and evaluate cellular systems and develop wireless protocols and algorithm designs using theoretical analysis, link-level, or system-level simulations for 6G and beyond
Implement wireless protocols and associated algorithms in a MATLAB or Sionna based testbench to support various features for 6G and beyond
Prepare technical reports, presentations, and/or technical papers surveying state of the art, describing design and development efforts, and presenting evaluation results
Drive technology generation and disclosure writing and supporting patent applications and downstream support
Qualifications
Ph.D. student in Electrical Engineering or related field
Strong analytical and research skills. Research experience in wireless communications, and AI/ML with a track record of peer-reviewed publications is highly preferred
Strong background and experience in wireless communications fundamentals, communication theory, networking and digital signal processing including data processing through PHY, data link layer, network layer and transport layer.
Successful candidate is expected to have a strong system level and/or link level simulations background with high proficiency in MATLAB or Sionna and source control tool (e.g., GitHub)
Familiarity with cellular systems standards (3GPP 4G LTE and 5G) is preferred
Dedicated, result oriented professional with an attitude for getting the job done
Ability to thrive in an innovative, dynamic, and research-oriented work environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation skills
