    Forklift Operator, Thomaston, Georgia Interfor is seeking a safety-minded, skilled, and motivated Forklift Operator to join our team in Thomaston, Georgia in our Shipping Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating a forklift to move, load, and organize products throughout the mill, supporting efficient and smooth production operations. The pay rate for this position is $21.97 per hour. What You'll Do * Operate forklifts safely in compliance with all Interfor, OSHA, and MOPED safety standards and guidelines. * Move inventory and materials across company facilities, stacking and organizing large bulk items efficiently. * Work collaboratively with team members to load and unload materials safely. * Update inventory activity, logs, lists, and records accurately. * Identify damaged materials or replacements needed and report appropriately. * Address and clean up any spills or safety hazards before leaving the shift. * Perform daily pre-shift forklift inspections to ensure equipment is safe and operational. * Clean forklifts regularly using a pressure washer and assist with preventive maintenance tasks, including tire changes. * Follow all safety policies, job safety analyses, and standard operating procedures to prevent injuries and avoid damage to mill property. * Must be able to safely climb on top of railcars and be comfortable working in elevated areas. * Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or mill management. * Be available for occasional weekend work as required. * Physical Requirements: Walking, standing, sitting, climbing stairs, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating a forklift to move, load, and organize products throughout the mill, supporting efficient and smooth production operations.
