Advocates for the company's vision, style, aesthetic and standards in residential design while also proposing design to stay ahead of the curve. Assists in city submittal and facilitates reviewer comments and manages consultants' deliverables. Reports to Design Leads on tasks and deliverables and works directly with him/her to ensure the facilitation of a project's completion on-time, on/underbudget, and meeting the Company's quality standards. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following reflects management's definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons. • Participates in the design and documentation of custom or production homes • Effectively communicate with contractors or subcontractors with creative solutions in the field, respond to RFIs or other questions quickly and effectively • Perform jurisdictional and building code analysis including but not limited to zoning, IRC, and IECC • Redline/quality control their own work and the work of others, be able to manage all outside consultants • Participate in the creative design process, interest in pushing the envelope while balancing constructability and pricing concerns • Assist a project team to adhere to schedules and other needs to meet project completion • Handle multiple projects at any given time and maintain enthusiasm as assigned priorities or responsibilities change • Ensure all work meets company standards and aesthetics • Create/maintain material spec packages and communicate with the construction/purchasing team • Effectively track own billable time and communicate personal schedule to team leads • Interest in personal and professional growth within Work Shop • Find efficiencies through BIM technologies while adhering to industry/office graphic standards • 3D Rendering (Twinmotion is preferred) • Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: • Five to ten years of related experience • Minimum undergraduate degree (BA or BS Arch or BED) and/or M Arch • Practical construction knowledge, specifically on wood-framed projects • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings • Strong communication skills written, in-person, and over phone/video • Experience with 3D modeling and documentation in Revit is a must • Experience with 3D modeling and documentation in ArchiCAD is a bonus • Use of Bluebeam, Excel, BuilderTrend, GatherIt, etc. • Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language used in the workplace PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the follow ing: • Calculate figures and amounts. • Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously. • Accurately complete detailed forms and reports. • Must be able to lift 10 pounds.
