This position is ideal for someone passionate about residential design who wants to learn the full custom home interior design process from the ground up. Under the guidance of an experienced Interior Designer, this role will help ensure client meetings, selection sheets, and design center operations run smoothly and efficiently. Primary Responsibilities: Work with Interior Designer and learn how to guide a buyer throughout the selection process. Assist with any reselections needed for discontinued products. Maintain a welcoming, organized design center environment - ensure samples, options, and displays are clean, labeled, and up to date. Support the design team in preparing for homeowner meetings, including printing selection sheets, gathering samples, and setting up meeting spaces. Assist with updating and organizing selection sheets, color photos, and redline drawings. Input and track design selections and pricing requests (PRs) in the system. Help organize and file final homeowner documents, cabinet layouts, and countertop recommendations. Prepare and maintain “audit-ready” design files. Support change order updates as directed by the Interior Designer. Update design center displays, samples, and option-level materials. Communicate with vendors and internal departments (Purchasing, Sales, Construction) to assist in tracking or updating design-related information. Attend occasional client meetings to observe and learn the design selection process. Any other Interior Design Assistant duties and responsibilities as assigned. Required Skills & Knowledge: Organization: Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple administrative tasks accurately and efficiently. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to relay information clearly to clients and team members. Technology: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); familiarity with design software (AutoCAD, Revit, Chief Architect, or similar) a plus. Teamwork: Willingness to learn and support other team members; takes direction well and works collaboratively. Time Management: Ability to prioritize and complete tasks within deadlines in a fast-paced, client-facing environment. Globally, each year we recruit hundreds of interns to help us see things differently and solve the most complex challenges facing our clients, climate and communities. **The Opportunity** + Work closely with engineers and designers to create models and drawing sets - documentation and archiving. + Gatekeeper of all in-coming and out-going model and drawing information. + Work across disciplines to ensure an overall design fits together and satisfies each discipline's individual requirements. + Address problems that arise in a constantly evolving digital coordination environment + Develop engineer's concepts and sketches into accurate models and drawings, through direct communications. + Coordinate submissions and ensure accurate QA/QC protocols are implemented. + Represent Arup's interests in external meetings, written, and oral/presentations. + Filter highly detailed model and annotative information into, logically organized, easy to read package + Engage in the development of office or client BIM procedures/standards and facilitate their implementation into projects. **Is this role right for you?** **Required: ** + Interest and passion for all aspects of the built environment and how ideas become reality. + Ability to use Revit or similar BIM software. + Ability to use AutoCAD or similar drawing production tools. + Problem Solving - Take on both large scale/conceptual level and detail/task level problems. + Professional demeanor. + Detail and accuracy oriented. + Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible way. + Displays initiative, a passion for learning, and enthusiasm. + Must be eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future. **Preferred: ** + Pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architectural Technology or Architectural Engineering. Coding experience is not required but would be beneficial. + Familiarity with Revit, Civil 3D, Bentley (for infrastructure), or Tekla is preferred. Proficiency in any of these tools is a strong advantage. + Familiarity with working on digital projects. + Knowledge of Rhino, Grasshopper, Dynamo is desirable. + Experience with NavisWorks, Solibri, or any other coordination software/platform is beneficial. + Any experience working in the AEC industry.
