Job Responsibilities

Meets production and quality standards.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Cleans and maintains work area.
Must be available to work overtime as business needs dictate

The Controls Technician III position for Building Automation Systems (BAS) is critical to our success in ensuring our customers receive top-notch service as it relates to the installation, programming, and service of commercial digital control systems while maintaining quality and profitability.

The
Controls Technician III
will provide technician support for Building Automation Systems (BAS), service contracts, system upgrades, and controls related service requests.
Provide responsive and professional customer service with the goal of building and maintaining long-term customer relationships.
Identify, analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot direct digital control systems.
Perform preventative maintenance, commissioning, and replacement modifications as needed or requested by customers.
Maintain building automation systems by inspecting trend logs, reports, schedules, applications, hardware, and programming.
Provide controls technical support to HVAC technicians.
Create and/or implement programming and graphics for new installations and retrofit projects.
Commission controls installations and verify that control sequences meet scope, design, or specifications.
Provide training and follow-ups for Customers and operations personnel.
Complete work orders and review with customers for accuracy.
Continually look for ways to improve our processes and ability to serve our customers effectively.

Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
5+ years related experience.
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
Ability to lift 50lbs with or without an accommodation.
Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in mentoring less experienced technicians.
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
Current first aid / CPR card.
Proficiency with test instruments and calibration tools.
Competency in operation of engineering/commissioning tools, DDC controllers and field devices, BACnet protocol fundamentals.
Competency in the operation of HVAC equipment and controls.
Ability to understand written sequences of operation.
Ability to read low voltage wiring diagrams and controls flow diagrams.
Niagara AX and/or Niagara 4 certification.
Experience with any common integration protocols such as: BACnet MST / IP, LON, Modbus TCP / RTU, Ethernet OIP, MQTT, or SQL.
Strong computer skills, including computer networking fundamentals.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Customer-focused, results-oriented professional, and strong team player.
Motivated self-starter that demonstrates initiative.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and stay organized.

The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $35.40 - $53.30 in PA. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. About this role:

Assist during calibration of systems requiring basic electronic test equipment, such as multi-meters, network terminals and/ or a laptop computer

Assist in the set-up of operator workstations with all associated software
Responsible for performing job database backups on a daily basis or as advised
Assist with turnover to service
Track and record job progress and keep lead project personnel informed on progress
Keep project management apprised of concerns and issues
Complete paperwork on-time including time sheets, expense reports, posting of work orders, on-site documentation and project status reports
Communicate with lead project personnel upon arrival and before leaving the work site
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Pursuing Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
3.0 or higher GPA
Must be a US Citizen or able to work in the US without sponsorship
Possess and maintain valid and current Driver's License and be insurable by our company's insurance carrier
Willingness to travel in excess of 50% of typical work week, mostly local travel and seldom overnight hotel stays
Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment in excess of 8 feet above grade, and capable of lifting items up to 50lbs
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Basic understanding of control logic
Knowledge in DDC control theory and applications pertaining to the HVAC/Control preferred
Prior experience in HVAC and/or Building Automation preferred
